The villain character being praised by the audience in "The Wind Across the Blue Sky" is the Head of the Parents' Committee Hong - the person opposing My Anh (Phuong Oanh).
In episode 12, this character, out of personal hatred, committed both physical and mental violence to My Anh's son.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Truc Mai - the actress who plays Hong, shared her views on the villainous role this time.
Unexpectedly, the audience reacted so strongly
- Taking on the role of Head of the Parents' Committee Hong in "The Wind Across the Blue Sky", what pressures do you face?
- When I accepted the role of Thu Hong - Head of Parents' Committee in "The Wind Across the Blue Sky" by director Le Do Ngoc Linh, I predicted that this character could cause mixed reactions from the audience. But I didn't expect the audience to react so much and so strongly.
This is a character who relies on money to oppress and bully the weakest people than him. And perhaps my character's appearance is also fierce, making the audience feel that this character is more hated.
- On her personal page, she shared about the audience's reaction to Hong's role. How did you prepare to face this when playing a villainous role?
- For me, as an actor, the biggest responsibility is always to put the common interests of the film first. No matter what role I take on, I put all my heart into portraying the psychological, emotional and character image depth in the most realistic way.
When I accepted a villain role, I clearly understood that the responsibility of the person assigned the role was to create outrage, even push the audience's emotions to the climax. I think I am not outside that rule, and in fact, before the film aired, I had anticipated the audience's reaction.
- If you put yourself in the position of a mother like My Anh, how will you handle it?
- Movies are a mirror that partly reflects the hidden corners of society, and somewhere out there, there must be parents like that in real life.
As a mother of two, if I put myself in the case of the character My Anh, I would probably act the same as her. Because children are always sacred and intangible, especially for a mother - who is willing to do everything to protect her children.

- How did your family react to the scene in episode 12 of the character Hong?
- Actually, in my family, everyone knows the nature of an actor's job. Each role comes to me like wearing a new shirt, and the whole family gathers to reflect and discuss whether the role has fully expressed the spirit, content and form of the character.
In addition, people are also very interested in the effect that the audience gives to each of my roles on television.
- If Truc Mai used to play gentle roles, recently the audience has seen a very new color in her villainous roles. What do you think after each role?
- On stage, I often take on roles with a deep and emotional life, mostly about mothers and wives who suffer a lot of suffering, loss and patience.
On television, I have also tried very feminine and gentle characters. However, those roles may not have made as much of an impression on the audience as in some recent small roles, where I was shown a completely strong and individual color.
As an actor, what I want most is to transform into many different types of characters. Each role not only brings me a new life experience, a different color of life, but also a way for me to explore and understand more about myself.
I hope the audience will not p down the character in the actor's daily life
- As a Major of the People's Public Security, how do you arrange your work to be able to participate in the field of cinema?
- Currently, I am a Major of the People's Public Security. My work at the People's Police Drama Theater is quite busy.
However, if there is a suitable time, I still ask the unit to create conditions to participate in a few TV series projects so that I can satisfy my passion for television.
- Many people think that when they have a military rank, artists will often choose main roles. What do you think about this?
- Each role is a challenge for us, to be able to transform into all types of roles with different personalities that not all actors can easily do. I hope I am not limited to a specific type of role, but in each role, I explore and make every effort to convey the true nature of the character to the audience.
If all actors only choose to transform into good characters, who will be the one to take on the villainous roles - the pieces needed to make a film full of dark, good and evil scenes?
Therefore, I hope the audience will accept the dedication and efforts of each actor in each role, instead of criticizing the villain and dragging them into their private lives.
- Is it because of too much busy that recently, it has been difficult for the audience to see a Truc Mai who regularly plays in films?
- Working at the People's Police Drama Theater is currently very busy, besides that, I am a mother of two children: one is in adolescence with changes in age, and the other is just entering kindergarten, in dire need of care and attention from her mother.
Therefore, arranging between work at the agency, family responsibilities and the desire to participate in some more TV projects so that the audience does not forget themselves is not really easy.
However, when I have accepted any job, I always strive to complete it completely. Maybe my role on television is not too long, but I believe that each role will leave a certain mark in the hearts of the audience.
What I want most is for the audience to remember me as an artist who is passionate about his profession, dedicated to his profession and always tries constantly to learn as well as do well in his roles on stage as on television.
The love and affection of the audience is the biggest source of motivation, helping me try every day on the artistic path I have chosen.
