According to Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, the Education sector is currently short of nearly 11,900 staff compared to the scale of schools and classes after arrangement. In this context, arranging a part of principals and vice principals to return to teaching classes contributes to solving the teacher shortage situation.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hau, former Vice Principal, now returning to work as a teacher at Muong Dong Commune Secondary School, said that when she was a manager, she realized that the school lacked teachers. Therefore, when returning to teach Literature, she wishes to continue to contribute professionally to the school.
Similarly, Ms. Bui Thi Hien, former Deputy Principal, now a kindergarten teacher in Muong Dong commune, said that she received encouragement from the government and family when returning to teaching work.
According to Ms. Hien, teaching is a job that has been attached to since the early days of her career. Therefore, when assigned, she is ready to start work with a new mindset and continue to contribute to students.
According to Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, implementing the policy of arranging and streamlining the network of public educational institutions, the whole province reduced from 1,861 to 655 institutions, equivalent to a reduction of 64.8%.
After the arrangement, the number of management officials in the Education sector decreased by 3,220 people, equivalent to 66.2%. The team of accountants, cashiers, and clerical staff decreased by 813 people, equivalent to 33.7%. Among these, nearly 1,300 management officials were arranged as teachers.
Mr. Phung Quoc Lap - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training said that the reorganization of educational institutions has initially achieved positive results. The network of schools and classes has been streamlined, reducing focal points, and at the same time using resources in terms of staff and facilities more effectively.
In the coming time, Phu Tho province will continue to review and arrange staff suitable for the new scale, regulate teachers to overcome the situation of local surplus and shortage. Educational institutions are also required to strengthen management capacity, especially in large-scale schools with many branches.
