Previously, from May 14, after the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the number of candidates registering for the first wish to enter grade 10 high school in the 2025-2026 school year, students can adjust their wishes if needed.
Attending the 10th grade entrance exam, candidates can register a maximum of 8 wishes, including: 3 regular wishes, 2 specialized wishes and 3 integrated wishes.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City has more than 76,000 students out of a total of about 88,000 students in grade 9 registered to take the public grade 10 entrance exam. Thus, there are about 12,000 students who do not register for the exam.
Public high schools will recruit more than 70,000 students. Thus, about 6,000 students will fail the 10th grade entrance exam this year.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7.
Candidates will take 3 subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to foreign language 1 being studied at school). Candidates who register for a specialized school or integrated class will take an additional exam in a specialized subject or equivalent integrated (150 minutes).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that depending on the number of actual records and the needs of the schools, the department will consider additional admissions to high schools that lack many targets.
