On May 14, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the number of candidates registering for the first grade of high school in the 2025-2026 school year.
From the number of candidates registering for wish 1, students and parents will know the admission rate for each public high school this year.
According to Lao Dong, in the general system, this year Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School has the highest admission rate, with 1/4.61 (ie for every 4.61 candidates registered to take the exam, 1 candidate will be admitted). Following is Nguyen Huu Huan High School with 1/2.39.

According to the enrollment plan of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, from 5:00 p.m. this afternoon to before 5:00 p.m. on May 19, parents and students will be able to adjust their wishes if needed.
Note, students are only allowed to change their wishes and are not allowed to add or remove their names from the registration list.
In the 2025 - 2026 school year, the total enrollment target of public high schools in the city is more than 70,000, reaching a rate of 79% compared to the number of students expected to graduate from grade 9 of more than 88,000.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 and 7.
Candidates will take 3 subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to foreign language 1 being studied at school). Candidates who register for a specialized school or integrated class will take an additional exam in a specialized subject or equivalent integrated (150 minutes).
This year, depending on the number of actual records and the needs of the schools, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will consider additional admissions to high schools that still lack many targets.
