On November 18, the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Can Tho City held a meeting to celebrate the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2025).

In recent years, the city's Education and Training Department has constantly innovated, improving the quality of teaching and learning; maintaining its leading position in the Mekong Delta region in spearhead education; investing in modern facilities, effectively implementing the happy, green - clean - beautiful - safe school model; training the teaching staff to meet the requirements of educational program innovation.

In the last school year alone, affiliated educational institutions had 2,022 individuals awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, 15 Emulation Fighters at the city level, 167 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, and 24 individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Van Khoi respectfully acknowledged, commended and expressed his deep gratitude to generations of teachers, education managers and workers in the city's education and training sector.
In the context of the country entering a new stage of development, implementing the two-level local government model, implementing the Education Law, Resolutions, Directives, Conclusions of the Politburo and documents of the Government, ministries, branches in the field of education and training, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City affirmed that the city's teaching staff carries a great responsibility, training a class of people "both rosy and specialized", with knowledge, skills, courage and aspiration to contribute.
Teachers in the new era not only maintain their qualities, ethics, and love for their profession, but also must innovate, be creative, master technology, arouse the spirit of self-study, self-research, and form lifelong learning capacity for students, becoming global citizens of the future, Mr. Khoi emphasized.
Ms. Tran Thi Huyen - Acting Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City - called on the team of managers and teachers to continue to improve their political, professional and technical qualifications, effectively apply digital transformation to meet the requirements of comprehensive fundamental innovation to improve the quality and efficiency of educational activities; strive to compete and be creative in organizing educational activities; guide students to absorb knowledge, practice necessary qualities and skills in life to become "intellectual - dynamic - kind - brave - elegant" young people, ready to contribute to the development of the city.
