In the article 95 years under the flag of Great Unity on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Fronts traditional day, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that great unity is a tradition, an invaluable asset, the strength that makes all victories of the Vietnamese revolution. This is not a symbolic slogan but a truth witnessed by the bones and blood of many generations. From the Viet Minh movement in the August Revolution, to the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the North in the years of building socialism, and the National Liberation Front in the Southern resistance war against the US, each form of the Front in each period is a bridge of will, a "launching pad" of the masses' confidence in the revolutionary cause.
Documents at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Museum show that this place not only preserves artifacts, but also preserves memories of a journey nearly a century associated with the strength of the people's hearts. The simple leaflets, receipts, photos recording the moment people gathered to donate to save hunger in 1945, or the mass mobilization of people to pull the coffin up to Dien Bien... all prove that when united, the Vietnamese people can do miracles. The solidarity between the Party - the Front - the People is the red thread throughout all historical periods.
The spirit of great solidarity not only lit up in war. In recent years, especially in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the call of the Fatherland Front has become a signal connecting millions of hearts. The images of ATM rice, ATM masks, small gifts from children in mountainous areas sent to the Epidemic Prevention and Control Fund... have become a vivid symbol of Vietnamese humanity and humanity. At that time, the Front will fulfill its central role in arousing the spirit of mutual love - a fundamental value of the nation.
The Front plays a role in the new situation
In the spirit of the General Secretary's direction, the Front and the mass organizations need to strongly shift from movement to practical results; from socialization to listening - dialogue - solving; from experience to data, indicators, and measurement criteria. People are the root is not only a motto but must become a measure of evaluating all programs and policies. Every resolution of the Front must answer the question: What benefits do people get, how weak groups will be supported, what results can be verified.
In the new context with many challenges such as strategic competition, climate change, population aging, urbanization pressure, energy security and cybersecurity, the strength of great solidarity needs to be further renewed. Today's solidarity is not only the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", but also the unity in institutional reform, digital transformation, innovation of growth models, regional linkages, environmental protection and improving the quality of life of the people. That requires the Front to become the center of intelligence, the center of connection and the center of spreading the human values of the times.
An important highlight is building a "Digital Front Portal", establishing a people-to-people interactive map, receiving 24/7 recommendations and promoting social dialogue at all levels. These innovations not only help the Front get closer to the people, but also create space for people to proactively reflect, supervise and contribute. The clear assignment of responsibilities to each organization such as the Trade Union, Farmers' Association, Women's Union, Youth Union... in the groups of people's tasks shows a new management mindset: Clear work, clear people, clear results. When each organization contributes its role and responsibility, the Front system will have much greater combined strength.
Towards two 100-year goals: Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party in 2030 and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country in 2045, the role of the Front is especially important. Building a prosperous and happy country is not only a story of economic governance, but also a story of social consensus, political trust, behavioral culture and solidarity between the State and the people. The Front is the hot line that runs through the will of the Party and the will of the people. When that line is smooth, all policies can come into life.
Looking back on the 95-year journey, it can be affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front has always been the center of the united Fatherland, the flame of the will to keep the fire burning and also the common home of the great national unity bloc. The strength of the Front is the strength of the people's hearts. The prosperous development future in 2030 and 2045 depends largely on arousing, preserving and enhancing that strength.
Great unity is not far away. It starts with seemingly small things: a handshake, a dialogue, a listen, a decision to put the interests of the people above all. If every Front cadre, every member organization, every locality does that well, the house of great solidarity of Vietnam will become increasingly solid.
More than ever, in this era of many opportunities but also full of challenges, President Ho Chi Minh's message remains valuable: "Solidarity, unity, great unity; success, success, great success". That is not only the truth of the past 95 years, but also the way to bring our nation into a confident, strong and sustainable future.
