Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued an Official Dispatch on the implementation of the Project "Making English the second language in schools in the period of 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045" (abbreviated as the Project).
The Chairman of the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches, sectors, units and People's Committees of communes and wards to develop programs, projects, and plans to specify the goals, tasks, and solutions of the Project in accordance with local actual conditions.
The implementation plan must be consulted with the City People's Committee to be issued in 2025, ensuring progress, quality and compliance with the provisions of Decision No. 2371/QD-TTg.
Every year, the Department of Education and Training is responsible for synthesizing implementation results, proposing solutions to remove difficulties, and reporting to the Ministry of Education and Training according to regulations.
The project is applied in all preschools, general education, higher education, vocational education, and continuing education institutions nationwide. The project implementation period is 20 years (from 2025 to 2045), implemented with 3 main phases.
In particular, phase 1 (2025-2030) will build a foundation and standardization - ensuring a solid foundation for regular and systematic use of English in the educational environment; phase 2 (2030-2035) will expand and enhance - promote the use of English more regularly; phase 3 (2035-2045) will improve and enhance - English will be used naturally, developing an ecosystem of English in the educational environment, communication and school administration.
