This is the first year that the exam is organized according to the 2018 General Education Program, so there are many changes in both the number of subjects, knowledge content, and exam questions.Students like Ha Linh must take 4 exams, including Math and Literature and 2 elective subjects (chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).
Determining this to be an important exam, Ha Linh has developed a study plan, reviewed for each subject, made a test, solved the test herself and actively discussed with teachers and friends when there were uncomprehensible scores. "I registered for 2 elective subjects: Physics, English, aiming to use the A01 combination (Math, Physics, English) for university admission. I start studying at 8pm, after resting and having dinner, study for about 2 hours and go to bed at 11am. I don't stay up late, because getting enough sleep helps me stay alert to study in class the next day," Ha Linh said.
Understanding the stress and pressure of students, high schools across the country have planned a longer period from the beginning of the school year, dividing specific time, and accompanying students.
Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa - Principal of Phan Dinh Phung High School (Hanoi) informed that from the beginning of the school year, the school has planned a long-term review of the high school graduation exam for grade 12 students, with 3 specific stages: Consolidating knowledge; Exercising all-power, focusing on the " sprint" time before the exam; support 1:1 for students who have not met the requirements or are only at an average level.
At the stage of organizing learning according to separate exam preparation classes, students are checked, evaluated weekly and closely monitored for progress through each lesson. After each test, students will evaluate their learning outcomes, analyze the causes and propose solutions for improvement. In addition to teaching knowledge, coordination with homeroom teachers and families has also been promoted, to comprehensively care for the mental health of students.
"The school closely manages each session, helping students properly assess their own abilities, promptly consolidate knowledge, practice skills and test-taking methods. The goal is to create a strong mentality for students to enter the high school graduation exam," said Mr. Hoa.
Resolutely organize the exam safely, seriously, and with quality
In addition to strengthening review and accompanying students, the preparation of facilities and conditions for organizing safe, serious and quality exams has also been implemented by the education sector over the past time.
The Ministry of Education and Training has established 15 inspection teams for exam preparation at 30 departments of education and training, not to mention inspection teams conducted by ministries' leaders and national exam steering committees. The inspection period is from June 10 to 23.
In the exam review stage, the direct inspection team is arranged by the exam Steering Committee in localities according to the principle that less than 20 exam rooms are arranged with 2 inspection officers. From 20-40 exam rooms, at least 3 inspection officers will be arranged. From 41 departments or more, 4 inspection officers will be arranged. In the exam marking stage, the Steering Committees of localities arrange inspection teams with at least 5 people/teams in the stages of thesis test marking, thesis test marking, multiple-choice test marking, marking, entrance exam scoring, etc.
The Ministry Inspectorate coordinates with inspectors of departments to establish surprise inspection teams when there are reports of violations or there are signs of abnormality at the stages of the high school graduation exam.

Therefore, the Minister especially noted the motto "4 correct", "3 no", "2 enhanced". In which, "4 correct" is: true to the regulations and instructions for the exam; correct and complete the process; correct position, position and responsibility assigned; correct time to promptly handle unusual situations and incidents. "3 no's" are: Not lenient, subjective; not stressed, over pressured; not arbitrarily handling unusual situations and incidents. "2 enhancements" are: Enhancing the sense of responsibility and professional qualifications of cadres participating in organizing exams; enhancing the sense of self-awareness, properly implementing the Regulations of candidates.
In addition, the head of the Education sector emphasized another keyword "honest". "We must be strict in handling situations, any violations when discovered must be strictly handled, not relocated", Minister Nguyen Kim Son noted.
Proactively respond to unusual weather during the 2025 high school graduation exam
To ensure the safety of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training requires the People's Committees of provinces/cities directly under the Central Government to proactively respond to natural disasters during the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Specifically, localities need to proactively monitor and update weather information; Review, develop and implement safety plans for the exam; Ensure safety for staff and candidates. Establish an information channel with parents and students to manage, guide and support candidates to move to the Safety Testing Point, minimizing the risk of natural disasters, etc.
Hanoi builds a digital map of high school graduation exam scores
Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, informed that in 2025, the whole city will have 124,072 candidates registering to take the exam, an increase of nearly 16,000 compared to 2024. Of which, there are 2,565 candidates under the GDPT 2006 program. The city has arranged 233 exam locations with 5,587 exam rooms. The number of cadres, teachers and staff mobilized is up to more than 16,000 people.
The City Police mobilized nearly 900 soldiers to participate in the competition locations, making markings and judging. 625 officers are responsible for inspecting and supervising the exam locations; along with 16-17 surprise inspection teams and 5 inspection teams for exam and exam protection outside of working hours.
" 100% of the exam scores have been inspected for facilities and conditions for exam service," Mr. Cuong affirmed. The work of printing exam questions is guaranteed with 95 staff and full equipment. Transportation, security of exam questions and exams are strictly implemented in accordance with the Regulations. The two judging areas are arranged with a modern machinery system to meet the judging scores of the two programs.
Nearly 800 exam graders work in areas with camera surveillance and 24/7 protection. In particular, this year, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the People's Committee Office to build a digital map of the exam scores to help candidates locate and find the correct exam locations. The Northwest proactively responds to floods in the high school exam
In Lai Chau, there are 4,449 candidates qualified to take the exam at 22 official exam locations. To ensure the exam takes place smoothly, the Department of Education and Training has established an Examination Council with specialized departments with the participation of over a thousand cadres and teachers.

In Dien Bien, this year's exam has 7,641 candidates registered to take the exam, an increase of 956 students compared to 2024, creating no small pressure for the organization. The Department of Education and Training has mobilized about 1,900 personnel to serve the exam throughout the province.
Through the review, the whole province of Dien Bien has over 1,300 candidates with difficult circumstances who need support. The Department of Education and Training and schools and organizations have mobilized social resources to help students in material, spiritual, and means of transportation.
In Son La, the 2025 high school graduation exam will have 13,465 candidates taking the exam. The whole province has 38 exam locations with 589 exam rooms, 50 waiting rooms and reserve rooms. Son La province has mobilized 2,342 cadres, teachers, employees, police, electricity, health... to participate in serving the exam.

The 2025 high school graduation exam in Ho Chi Minh City has 99,578 candidates registered to take the exam, an increase of 8,891 candidates compared to the previous year. Of which, 97,940 candidates took the exam under the 2018 General Education Program and 1,638 candidates under the 2006 General Education Program.
The city has arranged 171 exam locations with a total of 4,242 exam rooms. Of which, there are 168 exam scores with 4,180 exam rooms for candidates under the 2018 Program and 3 exam scores with 62 exam rooms for candidates under the 2006 Program. Each exam location is arranged with 3 reserve rooms to handle arising situations.
All exam scores this year are installed with cameras in the exam and exam storage room, ensuring coverage of all items containing exam questions and exams in the room and the behaviors affecting those items, storing all data of the exam and exam storage process at the exam scoring room, operating continuously even when the power grid is out.
