On November 14, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held a press conference to summarize the National Press Award "For the cause of Vietnamese education" in 2024.
The National Press Award “For the Cause of Vietnamese Education” aims to honor authors with many excellent press works on the cause of education, on typical collectives and individuals with many contributions to the cause of education. Thereby, promoting and honoring the contribution of the education sector to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; at the same time attracting the attention of all levels, sectors and society to the cause of Vietnamese education.
This year, the National Press Award “For the cause of Vietnamese education” received more than 800 entries from 4 categories: Print, Electronic, Radio and Television. As a result, 81 entries were selected for the final round.
From these works, the Final Jury proposed 1 Special Prize; 4 First Prizes; 8 Second Prizes; 12 Third Prizes, 32 Encouragement Prizes and 2 typical characters in the 2 winning works.
Journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Permanent Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, said that for the electronic newspaper format, many articles are presented in a modern and rich manner in the form of Mega Story, Emagazine, Longform with all types: text, photos, videos, graphics, Podcasts...
In the print form, educational issues are reflected in a wide variety; notably those related to implementing democratic regulations in schools, student streaming, career guidance, integrated teaching, school psychology, good people and good deeds, etc.
In particular, the Radio - Television category also increased the quantity and quality of entries. Many remote and disadvantaged areas such as Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Son La, Ca Mau... sent entries, demonstrating the increasingly widespread influence of the National Press Award for the cause of Vietnamese education.
Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Professional Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Vice President of the Final Jury said that this year's season has about 30% of works with critical nature.
These are technical, in-depth, good quality, highly constructive works; the critical works are of much better quality than in previous seasons.
According to Ms. Hang, through journalistic works, we see the dedication of reporters so that examples of teachers and the good values that education brings can spread widely in society.
"The organizing committee will discuss and calculate options to add some categories to the award structure to ensure optimization, in order to encourage and recognize authors and works with high creativity," Ms. Hang emphasized.
The 2024 National Press Awards Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnam's Education" will be held on the morning of November 16 at the Hanoi Opera House.
