Male student Dao Anh Khoa (Pharmacy student, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy) has just made an excellent impression at the 8th National Medical Education Conference; he is the contestant with the highest voted work in the Educational Products Exhibition contest, with the project "Poison board game - Education about antibiotics".
This project is guided by Associate Professor, Doctor of Pharmacy Pham Thanh Suol and Associate Professor, Doctor of Pharmacy Nguyen Phuc Hung (Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy).
Mr. Khoa shared that Poison board game is an educational and entertaining game about antibiotics, focusing on the fierce battle between two opposing sides: pharmacists and poison pharmacists, along with a neutral side: traders.
Players will play as one of these characters, carry out missions and strategize to win through 120 cards. Each round lasts about 30 minutes, with 2-11 players.
This game helps reinforce basic knowledge about antibiotic classification, bacteria, spectrum of action, some side effects, antibiotic dosage forms and how to use antibiotics safely and appropriately for each patient.
Regarding customer experience evaluation, more than 91% of players felt happy and excited when experiencing this board game; more than 90% of players grasped basic antibiotic knowledge. In particular, more than 88% of participants agreed that schools need to create conditions and support for educational board games to be promoted in learning.
Anh Khoa’s project surpassed other products from excellent groups from many universities nationwide. Thanks to its creativity, high educational significance and ability to convey easy-to-understand content, Poison board game received high praise from the jury and participants, becoming the most voted product at the conference.
In particular, selling board game products from the project also helps generate revenue. With a preferential price of 169,000 VND/set for students; 199,000 VND/set and 217,000 VND/combo product (1 game set and 1 card protector set) for the remaining subjects; actual revenue from March to August 2024 is nearly 4 million VND. It is expected that in the future, revenue will increase according to the scale and development of the brand.
Evaluating Anh Khoa's startup product, Associate Professor, Doctor of Pharmacy Pham Thanh Suol - Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy - said that this product not only demonstrates creativity but also has high educational value, contributing to raising awareness about the proper use of antibiotics: "Anh Khoa's project aims to disseminate knowledge not only to medical students but also to the community, through the form of interesting interactive games, this shows Anh Khoa's vision and acumen in combining education and entertainment, helping learners easily access and remember important knowledge about antibiotics".
According to Associate Professor, Doctor of Pharmacy Pham Thanh Suol, Anh Khoa is not only an award-winning student, but also a role model for the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation in education. Anh Khoa’s efforts and creativity will certainly inspire many other students, contributing to enriching the learning and research environment at the school.
