To ensure the safety of students, Garment High School has also issued a notice: All schools have switched to online learning on the MS Team platform according to the issued curriculum. Time from Monday, October 6 until further notice.
The High School for the Gifted (Hanoi National University) will also let students transfer to online school tomorrow.
Xuan Dinh High School announced the switch from in-person to online learning (according to the school schedule) for 2 days of Monday and Tuesday (September 6-9) to ensure the safety of students and teachers against the impact of storm No. 11 Matmo.
Minh Khai A Primary School announced that the school will update the school day or not day off plan according to two time frames: 9:00 p.m. on October 5, 2025 and 6:00 a.m. on October 6, 2025.
The school recommends that parents regularly follow the school's official Fanpage to promptly update the latest announcements, ensure absolute safety for children and convenience in pick-up and drop-off.
"The school always puts the safety of students first, while preparing flexible response plans so that children are always protected in all unusual weather situations" - the school's announcement stated.
Ms. Vu Phuong Thao (Cau Giay Ward, Hanoi) - a parent whose child is studying at Nguyen Tat Thanh High School shared that she has not yet received a notice from the school about going to school or switching to online learning tomorrow. However, she has calculated a plan to ensure the safety of her children and the convenience of the family in case of heavy rain when storm No. 11 makes landfall in Vietnam.
"The area where I live is very prone to flooding. If there is heavy rain tomorrow morning, I will proactively ask the homeroom teacher to let my child stay home to study online because the school has implemented online learning via Teams very effectively" - Ms. Phuong Thao said.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) sent a document to the People's Committees of wards and communes; units and schools under the Department to request proactive response to storm No. 11.
Accordingly, the Department requested the People's Committees of wards and communes to direct educational institutions in the area; heads of units and schools under the Department to focus on closely monitoring the developments of storm No. 11. In addition, units need to seriously and effectively implement the directives and instructions of the Central, City and local governments in natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue; closely monitor weather developments to proactively prevent, avoid, respond and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Based on the weather situation, units proactively review and prepare plans, deploy disaster response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto in accordance with school conditions. For units and educational institutions with boarding students, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training recommends strictly managing students; students' travel must be closely coordinated between schools and families; adequate drinking water, food and provisions must be prepared to ensure the living needs of students staying at school during the storm.
Faced with developments in natural disasters, floods, and epidemics, heads of educational institutions need to regularly monitor the situation, promptly adjust flexible teaching and learning organization plans, and choose appropriate forms; at the same time, proactively report to the People's Committees of wards and communes; relevant units and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training for coordination in direction and handling.
