The Ministry of Education guides tuition reduction procedures for students studying arduous and toxic subjects

The Ministry of Education and Training responds to this issue as follows:

On September 3, 2025, the Government issued Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP replacing Decree No. 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021 regulating the mechanism for collecting and managing tuition fees for educational institutions in the national education system and policies for exemption, reduction of tuition fees, support for learning costs; service prices in the field of education and training.

Accordingly, Point b, Clause 1, Article 16 of Decree No. 238/2025/ND-CP stipulates that subjects eligible for a 70% tuition reduction include: "Students and students majoring in royal music, Cheo, Tuong, Cai Luong, dance, circus; some arduous, toxic, and dangerous vocational training occupations according to the list of arduous, toxic, and dangerous vocational training occupations prescribed by the central state management agency for vocational education".

Thus, learners who are studying arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations according to the above regulations only need to submit an application for tuition reduction.

Vocational training institutions are responsible for confirming that learners are studying arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations according to the above regulations to implement tuition reduction according to regulations.
