Upgrading the system, increasing the number of virtual filters
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, the total number of candidates registered to take the exam will reach 852,000 with 7.6 million wishes for more than 4,000 majors and training programs of more than 400 universities and colleges nationwide.
The total number of actual wishes to be considered for admission on the system is over 50 million (each industry wish is considered according to each method, the admission combination is considered a wish on the system), an increase of about 2 times compared to 2024.

To serve the higher requirements of 2025, the general admission support software system (including the virtual admission and filtering system) has been upgraded, although there was also an overload situation at first, but it has been promptly resolved and completed processing, providing data to schools to announce on time on August 22.
The Ministry of Education and Training also increases the time and number of virtual filters for schools to carefully review data and minimize errors. At the same time, after announcing the benchmark scores, schools will continue to need 2 to 3 days to review, correct errors and complete the list of successful candidates, notify candidates, and update to the Ministry's system to serve candidates to confirm admission.
Thus, from August 22 to August 24, candidates who are admitted to any school will be notified by that school and can look up on the information portal provided by the school. For the group of schools in the North that conduct general admissions, the announcement of the list of admission is taken care of by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, which is the unit in charge of the admission according to the authorization of the schools in the group.
Candidates who have not received admission notices or because the school has not completed the data update, has not announced the admission list or has errors.
The number of actual errors decreased compared to 2024
From 8:00 a.m. on August 25, after most schools had downloaded the admission list data, the Ministry of Education and Training reopened the general admission support system for candidates to attend.
The system operated completely stably, by 12:00 on August 26, more than 560,000 candidates had successfully enrolled (exceeding the total number of candidates enrolled in the first batch of 2024).
With such a large amount of data, along with the diverse methods and conditions for admission of universities and colleges, errors are inevitable, even in a very small proportion. Like previous years, these errors were mainly due to errors in the admission data (admission method, conditions, admission criteria, priority evidence of candidates, foreign language certificates, etc.), some errors due to manual operations of some schools during the admission process.
However, according to the Ministry, the actual number of errors has decreased significantly compared to 2024. The Ministry of Education and Training and universities and colleges all sent staff to the hotline to receive feedback and concerns from candidates and parents through many channels (through phone numbers and emails on the general admission support system) and coordinate to handle and resolve them immediately for the legitimate rights of candidates.
According to the admission regulations, the settlement of errors is the responsibility of schools. If necessary, the Ministry will support, guide and direct other universities to coordinate in handling them. Through listening to feedback on major errors of some higher education institutions, the Ministry of Education and Training has given timely instructions and guidance, so far most of the errors have been resolved in accordance with regulations.
The university and college admissions in 2025 have been carried out on schedule and on schedule, ensuring the rights of candidates; the general admission system has been operating stably; cases that have not accessed information in the past few days are due to schools not having completed reviewing and perfecting data; cases with errors have been resolved promptly and in accordance with regulations.
"All eligible candidates will certainly be notified of their admission on time to enter school on time" - the Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that it will continue to listen to and study to absorb feedback to have a direction to adjust enrollment regulations, enrollment plans and direct universities and colleges to better implement them in the coming years.
