Circular 05/2025/TT-BGDĐT regulating the working regime for general education and university preparatory teachers issued by the Minister of Education and Training takes effect from April 22, 2025.
Clause 1, Article 6 of Circular 05/2025/TT-BGDĐT stipulates the working regime for general education teachers and university preparatory teachers.

Accordingly, the annual leave time of teachers includes:
Summer vacation time according to Point a, Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree No. 84/2020/ND-CP dated July 17, 2020 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Education.
During the summer vacation, teachers participate in training and fostering according to the requirements of the job position, participate in the high school graduation exam and enrollment when summoned by competent authorities;
Holidays, Tet holidays and other holidays according to the provisions of the Labor Code and the Law on Social Insurance;
Based on the school year plan, scale, characteristics, and specific conditions of each school, the principal arranges annual leave time for teachers appropriately and in accordance with regulations, ensuring the school year time frame.
In case the summer vacation time and maternity leave time of female teachers have overlapping periods, in addition to the leave time as prescribed in point b, clause 1 of this Article, the teacher's leave time includes:
Maternity leave time as prescribed;
Summer vacation time outside maternity leave (before or after maternity leave);
In case the summer vacation period specified in point b of this clause is less than the number of annual leave days according to the provisions of the Labor Code, teachers are entitled to additional days off. The total number of additional days off and the number of days off specified in point b of this clause is equal to the number of annual leave days according to the provisions of the Labor Code. The additional leave time is arranged flexibly according to the agreement between teachers and principals.
Thus, the annual leave time of high school teachers is regulated as follows:
