On the morning of September 20, the leader of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that he was completing procedures for teacher T.T.H, a teacher at Nam Can Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Na Ngoi Commune, Nghe An Province) - a person with metastatic cancer, to return to work at the old school.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, despite being treated for a serious illness for 2 years, Ms. H was still included in the list of seconded to Huu Kiem Primary School, 35km from home. She presented to the school council, asking to stay but was not accepted by the principal.

The incident caused a lot of public outrage, many people reacted and criticized the school's leaders.
According to the leader of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, after asking the school to report and explain, the Department directed the preparation of a document to bring Ms. H back to the old school. At the same time, the Department also issued a document guiding and requiring units to comply with regulations when making a list of seconded schools, in which teachers with serious illnesses in priority group No. 1 do not have to be seconded.
Talking to reporters, Ms. H said that she had received a notice to go back to her old school: "I want to stay long-term to work with peace of mind, without having to go on secondment anymore".
Previously, Mr. Lam Nguyen Ngoc - Principal of Nam Can Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - confirmed the list of teachers sent to secondment for a secondment in the condition that this teacher had been treated for cancer for 2 years, but admitted that he had not reported or asked for opinions from the Department of Education and Training.
Mr. Lam Nguyen Ngoc gave many reasons to justify the above action, however, public opinion reacted and criticized the above behavior as inappropriate and not ensuring humanity in the educational environment.
It is known that at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, at Nam Can Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, 3 teachers were sent on secondment. The leader of the Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that he will consider making it possible for all 3 teachers to return to their old school to work stably, ensuring the humanity of education, and creating conditions for teachers to receive treatment.
