2025 is the first year that the high school graduation exam is implemented according to the 2018 Education Program. Students take two compulsory subjects (Math, Literature) and two optional subjects from 9 subjects (Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Informatics, Technology, Economic Education and Law).
Since then, universities have built many corresponding admission combinations, expanding beyond traditional block such as A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), D01 (Math, Literature, English), C00 (Literature, History, Geography) to integrate new subjects such as Informatics, Economic Education and Law.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade said that this year the school will use 5 admission methods, with more than 10 admission combinations, depending on each major and major.
In which, there are new combinations such as: C00 (Literature, History, Geography), C03 (Literature, Mathematics, History) and adding combinations with Economic and Legal Education subjects.

The University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) announced the use of 6 admission subject combinations applicable to all majors/specializations and all training methods.
The combinations include A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, English, Literature), D07 (Math, English, Chemistry), X26 (Math, English, Informatics), X25 (Math, English, Economic and Legal Education).
In 2025, in the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced admission according to many combinations, including Math.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in 2025, 4 admission combinations will be used. In which, the Department of Medicine and Dentistry considers the admission of the B00 group (Math, Chemistry, Biology).
Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Nursing, Nursing major in Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Midwifery, Dental prosthetics, Medical Testing Techniques, Medical Imaging Techniques, Rehabilitation Techniques, Nutrition, Public Health, Preventive Medicine for admission in 2 groups: B00 and A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry).
The Social Work major has 4 combinations: B00, A00, B03 (Math, Biology, Literature), B08 (Math, Biology, English).
According to a report by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, this year's high school graduation exam in the old city has nearly 100,000 candidates registered to take the exam.
Of which, the largest number of candidates registered for the Foreign Language exam (49,328 candidates), followed by Physics and Chemistry.
