At the 25th session of the Hanoi People's Council held on July 8, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, Chief Justice of the Hanoi People's Court, informed about the results of the first 6 months of the work of the People's Court at both levels of the city.
Accordingly, in the first 6 months of 2025, the People's Courts at both levels of the city accepted 27,283 cases (an increase of 3,456 cases compared to the same period in 2024); resolved 16,990 cases, reaching a rate of 62.27% (an increase of 2,295 cases compared to the same period).
Regarding criminal cases, the People's Courts at both levels of the city have accepted 5,294 cases, of which 4,251 cases have been resolved (reaching 80.3%).
In particular, the People's Court has promptly, strictly and in accordance with legal regulations resolved 100% of cases monitored and directed by the Central Steering Committee and the City Party Committee Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity, including:
The case of "Violating regulations on management and use of state assets causing loss and waste occurred at the Phan Thiet coastal urban tourism project, Binh Thuan;
The case of "Receiving bribes", "giving bribes", "Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties" occurred in Thai Nguyen province and some other provinces and cities.
The case of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences" occurred at the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Center, American Civil servants International Joint Stock Company (AIC) against defendant Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan and other defendants;
The case of violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste" occurred at Vietnam Tea Corporation;
The case of "Violating regulations on exploration and exploitation of resources; violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences; smuggling; Consuming assets obtained by others through crimes; Violating regulations on management and use of State assets causing loss and waste; causing environmental pollution" occurred at Thai Duong Group Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Rare Earth Joint Stock Company;
The case of "Receiving bribes; Taking advantage of influence over people with positions and powers for personal gain; Taking advantage of positions and powers while performing official duties; Violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences; Violating regulations on bidding causing serious consequences" occurred at Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company;
The case of violating regulations on fire prevention and fighting and lack of responsibility causing serious consequences occurred on Khuong Ha Street, Khuong Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District;
Cases related to inspection centers;
In addition, the Hanoi People's Court at both levels also held 337 sessions of experience-led trials, announcing 6,249 judgments and decisions with legal effect; organizing the trial of 330 cases online.
The Chief Justice of the Hanoi People's Court proposed that in the coming time, the city pay attention to arranging land funds and supporting resources to build headquarters for the regional People's Courts to ensure stable and long-term operating conditions.
In the immediate future, the city will support funding for repairing and renovating existing district-level People's Court headquarters to be used as regional People's Court headquarters; at the same time, consider temporarily arranging surplus headquarters and unused headquarters in the area as workplaces and trial.
