In recent times, the Da Nang Education sector has implemented STEM through scientific research activities and participation in science and technology competitions. Many projects have achieved high results. Specifically, in the 2022-2023 school year, 124/175 projects participating in the city-level science and technology competition won prizes and 2 projects were selected to participate in the national science and technology competition; in the 2023-2024 school year, 124/174 projects participating in the city-level competition won prizes and 2 projects were also selected to participate in the national science and technology competition.
With the desire to inspire and create opportunities for students to pursue their passion for science and technology, the University of Technical Education - Danang University has organized a STEM model related to mechanics and engineering for Danang students to study, experience and participate in product design.
In early October 2024, 40 students from Le Hong Phong Secondary School participated in STEM training and learning at the University of Technical Education - University of Da Nang. The training program lasted for 4 days, with rich content such as: learning about STEM education methods and creative approaches for secondary school students; practicing and experiencing STEM models related to mechanics and engineering; group activities and discussions on the application of STEM in practice.
Participating in teaching the STEM program, Mr. Tran Duy Chung - Lecturer at the University of Technical Education - Danang University said that the students are very intelligent, quickly absorbing technology and new lessons about engineering, technology, and new applications.
This is an opportunity for students to develop knowledge, skills, apply STEM knowledge into practice, improve logical and creative thinking; stimulate passion for science and technology, help develop talent, creativity and necessary soft skills.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, Tran Nguyen Minh Thanh, assessed that the implementation of the STEM education program has helped the management staff and teachers to correctly perceive the importance of forming students' abilities and qualities according to the goal of fundamental and comprehensive educational innovation, meeting the requirements of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
In addition, students have proactively and actively proposed and implemented learning products under the guidance of teachers; many products have been entered into competitions and won high prizes in science and technology competitions at the city and national levels, helping them apply interdisciplinary knowledge to solve practical situations...

STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of equipping learners with knowledge and skills related to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics - in an interdisciplinary approach that learners can apply to solve problems in everyday life.
