On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the 15th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, the school organized the announcement and awarding of the decision to appoint the concurrent Vice Principal to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh and the Vice Principal to Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Doan Long.
The Director of Hanoi National University appointed Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Director of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, to concurrently hold the position of Vice Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
At the same time, the school appointed Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Doan Long, former Chairman of the Council of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, to hold the position of Vice Principal of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Also at the ceremony, Hanoi National University of Medicine and Pharmacy also announced the decisions to establish new units under and directly under the Government, including: Faculty of Grassroots Medicine and Pharmacy; Faculty of Public Health; International Research and Training Institute; University of Medicine and the Departments of Endocrinology, Urology, and Cardiology under the Faculty of Medicine.
The President of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy also appointed Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung, Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital to concurrently hold the position of Head of the Faculty of Gastroenterology and Embryo-Based Medicine and Hematology of the school.
Appointed Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach, Deputy Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Preventive Medicine to the position of Head of the Department of Public Health, Director of the International Research and Training Institute.
Appointed Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Viet Nhung (former Director of the Central Lung Hospital) as Director of the University Medical Center, concurrently Head of the Department of Medicine.

Professor Le Ngoc Thanh, Principal of Hanoi National University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hanoi National University, said that up to now, the school's structure includes: 5 functional departments, 5 faculties, 1 center and 5 affiliated units with a team of 344 permanent lecturers and part-time lecturers (of which the percentage of professors and associate professors accounts for 24.5%; PhDs account for 35.2%; the rest are lecturers and researchers with master's and resident doctoral qualifications).
Thus, Hanoi National University of Medicine and Pharmacy has Chairman of the School Council Pham Nhu Hai, Principal Le Ngoc Thanh and 3 Vice Principals including: Mr. Dinh Doan Long, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Mr. Nguyen Duy Anh.
Implementing NQ No. 18-NQ/TW to complete the organizational structure of the National University of Vietnam to ensure streamlining, not overlapping functions and tasks and optimizing human resources in health sector training and providing high-quality medical examination and treatment services and opening up great opportunities for the development of training, scientific research and medical practice.
On that basis, on February 14, 2025, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy announced and awarded Decisions No. 305/QD-DHYD on receiving the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital under the University of Medicine and Pharmacy under the University of National Medicine and Pharmacy.
In addition, based on scale and development needs, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy continues to improve the streamlined organizational structure.
Currently, regarding the organizational structure of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the National University of Medicine and Pharmacy has 5 affiliated faculties (Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at the grassroots level); 4 affiliated units include: 2 Centers (Center for Training based on Social Demand, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Center); International Research and Training Institute and University Hospital for Medicine and Pharmacy.
