Currently, many universities have announced their enrollment plans for 2025. Many schools still prioritize candidates with IELTS certificates, with a common score of 5.0 - 5.5.
This year, the National Economics University does not consider IELTS independently, nor does it consider IELTS combined with academic records. The IELTS certificate is considered in combination with the Hanoi National University's (HSA) competency assessment test score, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's (V-ACT) competency assessment test score, the University of Science and Technology's (TSA) thinking assessment test score, and the 2025 high school graduation exam scores of math and 1 non-English subject in the school's admission combination.
Candidates with IELTS 7.5-9.0 will be converted to 10 points.
At Hanoi National University of Education, for training majors that use English in teaching: English Language, English Language, Mathematics (teaching Mathematics in English), Physics (teaching Physics in English), Chemistry (teaching Chemistry in English), Preschool Education - English Language, Primary Education - English Language, the School considers adding priority points (converted from international English certificates) when considering direct admission under XTT2.
Priority points (on a 30-point scale) are converted from English certificates as follows:
Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced that it will give bonus points to talented candidates if they have VSTEP English certificate and other international English certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC...
Candidates can also use IELTS certificate in combination with thinking assessment test score for admission consideration.
The school allows converting English certificates into English subject scores when candidates are admitted based on high school graduation exam scores (combinations A01, D01, D04, D07).
The IELTS score conversion to English subject score is as follows: IELTS 5.0 is equivalent to 8.5 points; IELTS 5.5 is equivalent to 9 points; IELTS 6.0 is equivalent to 9.5 points; IELTS from 6.5 and above is equivalent to 10 points.
When converting IELTS to talent assessment and thinking assessment points, the score ranges from 1 to 7 corresponding to IELTS levels from 5.0 to 8.0. That is, IELTS 6.5 is added 4 points.
