This afternoon, more than 1.16 million candidates nationwide have completed the Math exam in the 2025 high school graduation exam. This year's exam is organized especially for both groups of candidates taking the exam under the general education program in 2018 and 2006.
For candidates taking the new program, they will do a Math test for 90 minutes with 22 questions, a reduction of the previous 50 questions. The multiple-choice test consists of 3 types of questions: 4-answer multiple-choice, true/false multiple-choice, and short-answer multiple-choice.

At the end of the test time, most students commented that the exam questions were highly differentiated. Le Trung - a student at the High School for the Gifted in Foreign Languages, Hanoi National University - said that candidates can easily achieve a score of 7.
"However, to get a higher score, you need to review carefully, practice many different types of bai, especially practical bai" - she said.
Nguyen Ngoc Diep - a student at Nguyen Trai High School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) - recounted that the third part of the exam had some difficult questions. Taking the A1 exam, Diep also predicted that he would get about 7 points and expressed concern for the two optional subjects tomorrow: English and Physics.
Sharing the same assessment, Nguyen Ngoc Dung - a student at Phan Dinh Phung High School - assessed that this year's Math exam was difficult because he had a lot of knowledge in grade 11.
"It takes me about 60 minutes to complete the sample test with a score of 8 or higher, but with the official test, I cannot complete it within 90 minutes.
I can do about 80%. The short answer section has many probability questions that confuse me. With this exam, I am not confident that I will get 8 points" - Dung said.

In Can Tho, Huynh Nguyen Thanh Thu - a student at Chau Van Liem High School - said that most students can do the 4-option multiple-choice part, while the other part is to differentiate candidates.
Unable to predict her own score, Thu said that the 5 - 6 score would be the majority, with few 8 - 9 scores. "No matter the exam score, I have done my best" - she said.
After finishing the Math exam, Nguyen Tuan Minh - a candidate at Chau Van Liem High School - commented that this is not only a knowledge test but also a challenge for the thinking ability and courage of the candidate.
"I think for students with good academic performance or higher, it is only possible to do a short answer, because it is very difficult, the rest of the multiple-choice test is quite good. Personally, I predict about 8 points, hopefully the remaining players will also get the points they want" - Minh added.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Anh - a student at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (HCMC) - said that this year's exam is quite suitable. "Just two proposals about verification are relatively difficult and time-consuming. Except for those two questions, I can do everything" - I recounted and assessed that the official exam questions were not much different from the reference questions announced by the Ministry of Education and Training in March.
The exam content covers knowledge mainly from grade 12, but there is still a small part in grades 10 and 11. "Fortunately, most of them are in the school's review content, so I am not surprised" - Nguyen Anh said and expressed confidence in achieving above 8 points, although he was still a bit worried.
As for Kha Han, another contestant shared: "I think this year's exam is good, I can do quite a lot of multiple-choice tests, probably about 80%. But the requests for practical application are quite difficult, so I am not sure I am doing it completely correctly. I think I got about 7 points, the rest depends on whether I made a mistake or not".
This contestant said that the most difficult question in the test was about probability. These questions require both solid knowledge and good thinking ability of the candidate, said Kha Han.
Tomorrow, candidates will continue to take the 2 subjects chon will do. The time for each subject is 50 minutes. Candidates taking the exam under the program only have to do their morning test. Meanwhile, candidates are free to take additional exams in the afternoon.
