According to observations, many blocks of the project have taken shape, while others are in the process of completion. At the construction site, workers are roofing, constructing roads, constructing auxiliary items...
Ms. Nguyen Thu Trang (Lao Cai city) excitedly said: "I often go here to work, so I often pay attention to this place. The school has only been under construction for about a year and now has such a beautiful appearance, it will soon be completed. Hopefully, with such a spacious and modern facilities, the school will be a place to nurture and train promising young generations for the country".
Through research, the Lao Cai High School for the Gifted Construction Project is invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board with a construction scale including the following items: classroom block, department - administrative - examination; library - hall with 2 blocks with a total construction floor area of about 34,849 m2; canteen and service block with a total construction floor area of about 1,184 m2.
Other items such as multi-purpose gymnasium with a total construction floor area of about 3,815 m2; kitchen and student dormitory with a total construction floor area of about 6,103 m2; exterior and auxiliary works, technical systems, fire prevention and fighting systems.
Started in February 2024, the Lao Cai Specialized High School construction project was approved by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for implementation in the period of 2021-2025 with a total investment of 350 billion VND.
The consortium of Duc Tuan Construction Investment Company Limited - Truong Son Company Limited - Duc Manh General Construction Company Limited - Dysaring - Dysaring Company Limited - 19.8 Construction Company Limited is in charge of the construction.
The contract implementation period of the project is from February 2024 to July 2025.
Currently, the project is being accelerated, striving to basically complete the entire rough part for other units to carry out interior items and teaching equipment.
According to the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the volume of project items is currently over 90%.
Mr. Truong Van Bay - Deputy Commander of the project said that the contractor is currently mobilizing maximum human and material resources to construct the project items and striving to basically complete all items by the end of April 2025.
Lao Cai High School for the Gifted was established in July 2003.
In 2009, the school was recognized as a National Standard School for the period 2009 - 2010, in 2010, the school was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister. In 2023, Lao Cai Specialized High School was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President.
To date, the school has had 2,221 excellent students at the provincial level; 556 excellent student awards at the national level.
In 2024, Lao Cai Specialized High School won 6 medals at the Scientific Conference of specialized schools in the coastal and Northern Delta regions.
