On August 24, 2026, the University of Transport and Communications organized a conference to summarize the results of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Quang Hung acknowledged the changes of the University of Transport in training and research.
The school promotes training associated with businesses and practice; the rate of graduates working in the right field reaches over 90%. The school also implements training, fostering and distance training in the railway sector for more than 1,600 students.
In the research, the program on high-speed railway infrastructure initially formed a standard system architectural framework, design documents, typical bridge girders and some design, manufacturing and testing results.
From the achieved results, in the next phase, the Deputy Minister suggested that the University of Transport and Communications should continue to improve data-based governance, strengthen proactive rights closely linked to the tasks of the school and the head, and focus resources on priority tasks.
The school needs to build a team of leading scientists, attracting good domestic and international experts, and at the same time create opportunities for young scientists to mature through major tasks, in potential research groups and strong research groups. "State - School - Enterprise" cooperation needs to be substantive, bringing research results from laboratories to projects and markets...
Reporting at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Rector of the University of Transport affirmed that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW place educational institutions, scientists, and teachers in the center of the new growth model.
This is even more important for the University of Transport and Communications, the Government unit assigned the task of being a national key school in science and technology for transportation; one of the 12 key higher education institutions of Hanoi Capital; and also a leading institution, an excellent training center for 4.0 technology in the field of infrastructure and transportation technology.
With that mindset, the school has focused on implementing three major transformations: Innovation in organization and management to improve action capacity; Innovation in training for the success of learners and the strategic human resource needs of the nation; Bringing science, technology and innovation to become a driving force for development and a tool to solve major problems of the country, the transport sector and localities.
Research is not only for publication, but must step by step create knowledge, technology and products with applicability, participating in solving major technological problems of the industry and the country" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Rector of the University of Transport emphasized.
To realize the above goal, the school identifies expanding cooperation from the "State - School - Enterprise" model to the "State - School - Scientist - Enterprise - International Partner" ecosystem.
