Taking advantage of every day
Amidst the bustling atmosphere of Tet and spring, Nguyen Tran Yen Nhi - a 12th grade student at Ha Trung High School (Thanh Hoa) still proactively built a clear study plan for herself during the Tet holiday, considering this an important acceleration phase before major exams.
The female student said that to both ensure academic efficiency and not miss the Tet atmosphere, she set a goal to complete all assigned tasks before Tet. From the 1st to the 3rd day of Tet, she spends all her time resting, going to wish Tet and reuniting with family and relatives.
In the remaining days of the holiday, I focus on reviewing for competency assessment exams, practicing three questions each day including Math, Literature and English, then self-scoring and correcting the lessons in detail. Besides, I will review the lecture videos, review and fill in the missing knowledge parts" - Yen Nhi said.
To balance between studying and time with family, Yen Nhi arranges a reasonable living schedule. In the morning, she and her relatives clean the house, prepare Tet meals and enjoy the atmosphere of reunion. In the afternoon and evening, she focuses on studying, even staying up late because she feels studying at night is effective.
Sharing the same view, Do Kim Ngan - a 9th grade student at Nguyen Phong Sac Secondary School (Hanoi) believes that studying during the holiday is also a way to maintain a stable review rhythm before the 10th grade entrance exam.
To ensure effective review, Kim Ngan has developed a specific review plan for each day. In the morning, the female student focuses on doing exam questions, rearranging important types of questions; in the afternoon and evening, she takes advantage of helping her family clean up, prepare for Tet and gather with relatives.
For me, Tet is only truly complete when I can both reunite with my family and take advantage of the time to study seriously, preparing a solid foundation for the upcoming sprint" - Kim Ngan expressed.

Study correctly to avoid overload
Giving advice to students when reviewing during Tet, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Trang - a teacher at Vinh Loc Secondary School (Tuyen Quang) said that reviewing during this occasion needs to be done scientifically and reasonably.
Students should not turn the holiday into a series of stressful study days from morning to night. Instead of chasing after the number of hours, the core thing is that students choose a suitable learning method, focus on the core content and ensure real effectiveness in each study session" - Ms. Trang said.
The female teacher encourages students to develop a short, clear review plan for each day. Each day spend 2-3 hours to systemize core knowledge, do some more common types of exercises or practice questions at a moderate level. Subdividing goals helps students avoid psychological overload, while maintaining concentration.
According to Ms. Trang, students should not rush to access too much new knowledge, this stage is more suitable for them to systemize core content, consolidate missing and unstable knowledge parts.
Sharing with students, Ms. Le Minh Hang - a teacher at Van Binh Secondary School (Hanoi) - said that maintaining physical and mental health is also very important in this review period.
Ms. Hang advises students to maintain a regular rhythm of life during the holidays: get enough sleep, eat scientifically, limit staying up late and using too many electronic devices. Besides studying, students should spend time doing light exercises such as walking, cycling, helping their families clean up the house so that the body can relax.
A balanced Tet holiday between studying, resting and family reunion both helps students recharge their energy and creates a positive attitude for them to enter the post-Tet acceleration phase with confidence and proactiveness" - Ms. Hang said.
