According to data from the Dong Thap Provincial High School Exam Steering Committee, in 2026, the scale increased significantly with more than 37,200 registered candidates, an increase of more than 2,500 candidates compared to the previous year. To serve the exam, the province plans to arrange 71 official exam sites with 1,583 exam rooms and 52 backup exam sites. In particular, many exam sites are organized right in border areas and island communes to reduce travel pressure and create favorable conditions for candidates far from the center.

The exam continues to be implemented according to the 2018 General Education Program, with the form of testing 4 subjects in 3 sessions. The education sector also promotes the application of information technology and digital transformation to simplify administrative procedures, improve management efficiency and organize exams.

Meanwhile, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026–2027 school year recorded a sharp increase in the number of 9th grade students. The whole province has 48,617 9th grade students, an increase of 12,513 students compared to the previous school year. The new enrollment target for 10th grade is determined to be 45,630 students.

To adapt to the large scale, Dong Thap has implemented many new points in enrollment work such as organizing online registration throughout the province, removing administrative boundaries and allowing each student to register a maximum of 4 aspirations, including 1 specialized school and 3 public high schools.
