On October 13, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward announced that it will continue to extend the temporary suspension of work for 15 days for Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga, Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School.
The above extension is to serve the process of verifying information related to the case of "dirty food" entering the kitchen of a boarding house that has caused a stir in public opinion in recent times.
Previously, on September 24, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward temporarily suspended Ms. Nga from work for 15 days, and assigned Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hien, Head of the Ward's Department of Culture and Social Affairs, to temporarily run the operations of Trung Vuong Primary School during the suspension of the principal.
The incident started on the evening of September 15, when a complaint appeared on social media against the Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School for agreeing to bring unsafe food into the school's boarding kitchen.
Immediately afterwards, Lam Dong Provincial Police and the authorities of Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward went directly to the school to work and verify the information.
On the evening of September 18, Mr. Nguyen Mau Ha, Chairman of Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee, chaired a confrontation between Principal Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga and parents' representatives to clarify the complaints.
After the incident, food suppliers simultaneously stopped delivering goods, causing the school to temporarily suspend boarding meals from September 22. Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee said that up to now, the boarding kitchen has not been able to operate again.
The ward is instructing the Board of Directors to carry out the procedures for re-auction of food suppliers in accordance with regulations, with an expected time of about 30 days.
Many parents expressed their hope that the boarding kitchen will soon resume operations, because having to pick up and drop off their children many times a day greatly affects the work and daily activities of the family.
At the online conference on September 23 with 124 wards and communes, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi directed to quickly handle and clarify the responsibilities of related individuals and groups, in order to ensure absolute safety for students in boarding kitchens in the area.
