On February 24, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Don town (Quang Binh province) said that the construction of 6 new classrooms is an important solution to facilitate students to continue studying in the locality.
Previously, due to degraded facilities and unsafe conditions, the government proposed a plan to temporarily transfer students to the main school. However, some parents were concerned about the inconvenience of traveling and temporarily let their children stay home from school to protest.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh informed that due to limited budget and the end of the public investment period, immediate repairs are difficult. However, the government still prioritizes the option of building a new one to ensure long-term learning conditions for students.
The locality will start construction of 6 new classrooms at Tan My boarding school before April 30, expected to be completed in 2025.
Mr. Phan Tien Lam - Principal of Primary School No. 1, Quang Phuc Ward said that by the morning of February 24, 11 students had returned to school at the main school. Of which, there are 9 students in class 2; 1 student in class 1 and 1 student in class 4.
The mobilization of students to class is still being carried out by the government and the school. The school will arrange a make-up class schedule when the students return to school to keep up with the program's progress.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on February 6, after the Lunar New Year holiday, 154 students at Tan My school (Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, Quang Phuc Ward) were still unable to return to class because parents opposed the decision to move from the branch school to study at the main school.
People said that the main school is nearly 2km from the branch school, making traveling difficult, so they want to continue studying at this school.
The People's Committee of Ba Don town said that at this school, there are 7 classrooms that are no longer safe.
Tan My branch school was built a long time ago and is easily affected by natural disasters. Therefore, the government has invited the Construction Quality Inspection Center (Quang Binh Department of Construction) for on-site inspection.
All 7 classrooms are seriously degraded. Many parts of the structure are no longer able to withstand the load, causing local danger and cannot continue to be used normally.
Therefore, the People's Committee of Ba Don town decided to temporarily close Tan My branch school and transfer all students to the main school - which has better facilities, spacious campus and full learning equipment.
