Practical life application
For more than 20 years standing on the podium to inspire generations of students, Dr. Tran Hoang Vu (born in 1980) - Head of the Department of Electricity - Electronics, University of Technical Education - University of Da Nang - has always strived to study, diligently researched dozens of scientific topics, put the products he researched into practical applications, contributing to building a smart Da Nang city.
To encourage students to develop their abilities and creativity, Dr. Tran Hoang Vu has applied many new and scientific teaching methods. Dr. Tran Hoang Vu said that in order to innovate teaching methods and help students develop their full potential, in each lesson, lecturers often apply Project-Based Learning and Design Thinking methods, which help students experience real-life projects.
Young lecturers also effectively apply the CDIO model - a method of organizing learners to experience practical professional activities in educational practice, developing personal and social communication skills.
"The responsibility of a teacher is to bring students to knowledge in the shortest and most effective time, with the hope that every generation of students when entering the classroom will soon mature, become good citizens, ready to serve and contribute to society with the knowledge they have learned" - Dr. Tran Hoang Vu said.
Accelerating digital transformation
With a passion for scientific research, Dr. Tran Hoang Vu has constantly strived and diligently researched dozens of topics and initiatives with high applicability, contributing to accelerating digital transformation.
Notably, there is a national-level project: "Research and development of some support services and tourist management to develop sustainable tourism in the direction of smart cities and e-Government" chaired by Dr. Tran Hoang Vu, researched from 2017-2020 and recognized for effective application, with a national scope of influence in 2022.
Dr. Tran Hoang Vu said: "This project builds an overall architecture for a service system to support and manage tourists in the direction of smart cities and e-Government. In particular, it applies new and modern technologies to support the development of sustainable tourism in the direction of smart cities such as data analysis, context-oriented services, the Internet of Things, and microservice architecture."
The project was implemented in practice at tourist destinations and travel agencies in the cities of Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, etc. It was assessed by the units as highly practical and contributed to improving tourism services, customer care, and tourism promotion.
Commenting on the teaching and scientific research process of Dr. Tran Hoang Vu, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Le Hung - Principal of the University of Technical Education - University of Da Nang - said that Mr. Vu is a typical lecturer of the school in scientific research, has chaired many topics at the State level, Da Nang University level, and ministerial level.
