Reasons for the University of Foreign Languages' benchmark score being absolutely 30/30
The University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, announced the benchmark for 2025, notably, the two majors of English Pedagogy and Chinese Pedagogy have an absolute benchmark score of 30/30 and require candidates to set a wish 1. This is controversial because Literature in this year's high school graduation exam does not have a score of 10.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh, Vice Principal of the school, Hanoi National University, the absolute benchmark score is explained by many factors: candidates are allowed to convert foreign language certificates (I IELTS 7.5 or higher converted to 10 English subjects), the addition of points according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, along with the use of many diverse admission combinations, helping candidates to be highly optimal in both natural and social fields.
The school's leaders pointed out three main reasons for the high benchmark score. First, preferential policies for the Pedagogy industry attract many excellent candidates. Second, the number of registrations for Foreign Language Pedagogy is always large, especially in 2025. Third, the mechanism for accumulating points for candidates with excellent student achievements and awards. In the context of a shortage of foreign language teachers, especially English, the school expects the Ministry of Education and Training to increase the quota for the Foreign Language Pedagogy major in the coming time.
