Border school project in Gia Lai lacks construction personnel
On May 16, the Gia Lai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that as of May 7, 2026, the project of 7 border school areas has only reached about 42% of the construction contract value; in which, 6/7 school sites are behind schedule.
According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the simultaneous implementation of many public investment projects is creating great pressure on construction human resources.

Although contractors have increased machinery and added labor, the progress of many projects has not yet met requirements.
To retain workers, many units have to set up camps right at the construction site, rent more people's houses and support living expenses. See more...

On May 16, Lao Dong Newspaper coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hanoi City People's Committee to organize Green Transformation Day 2026 with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving Force for Vietnam's New Growth Model" at Cau Giay Park, Hanoi.
The event attracted the attention of people and many young people. The highlight of the event is the electric vehicle display and experience area and the "Gasoline exchange for electricity" program.
Participants can directly visit and test drive new electric vehicles, and at the same time, be advised on preferential policies when switching from gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles.
In the green vehicle experience area, a large number of students from universities in Hanoi such as the Vietnam Women's Academy, Foreign Trade University, Academy of Journalism and Propaganda,... lined up to test drive new electric motorbike models. Many young people said they are interested in electric vehicles because of their low usage costs, suitable for daily travel needs and contributing to reducing environmental pollution.

Nguyen Ngoc Khanh - a first-year student at the Vietnam Women's Academy - said that she used to think electric vehicles were difficult to use and inconvenient to charge. However, after experiencing the reality at the event, Ngoc Khanh assessed that the vehicles operate smoothly, are easy to control and are suitable for travel needs.
Currently, I am renting a room near school, so I often walk to school. I plan to choose a personal vehicle to be more convenient when traveling for 4 years of school. I see that electric vehicles have a supportive charging system, which can help me save much more money than gasoline vehicles. Moreover, this is an environmentally friendly vehicle.
