On May 16, Lao Dong Newspaper coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hanoi City People's Committee to organize Green Transformation Day 2026 with the theme "Green Transformation - Driving Force for Vietnam's New Growth Model" at Cau Giay Park, Hanoi.
The event attracted the attention of people and many young people. The highlight of the event is the electric vehicle display and experience area and the "Gasoline exchange for electricity" program.
Participants can directly visit and test drive new electric vehicles, and at the same time, be advised on preferential policies when switching from gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles.
In the green vehicle experience area, a large number of students from universities in Hanoi such as the Vietnam Women's Academy, Foreign Trade University, Academy of Journalism and Propaganda,... lined up to test drive new electric motorbike models. Many young people said they are interested in electric vehicles because of their low usage costs, suitable for daily travel needs and contributing to reducing environmental pollution.
Nguyen Ngoc Khanh - a first-year student at the Vietnam Women's Academy - said that she used to think electric vehicles were difficult to use and inconvenient to charge. However, after experiencing the reality at the event, Ngoc Khanh assessed that the vehicles operate smoothly, are easy to control and are suitable for travel needs.
Currently, I am renting a room near school, so I often walk to school. I plan to choose a personal vehicle to be more convenient when traveling for 4 years of school. I think electric vehicles have a supportive charging system, which can help me save much more money than gasoline vehicles. Moreover, this is an environmentally friendly vehicle. So I am planning to choose this vehicle" - Ngoc Khanh shared.

Tran Thu Huyen - a 2nd year student at Hanoi University of Culture - also decided to choose electric vehicles as a means of transportation. The female student participated in Green Transformation Day with the desire to choose an electric vehicle model that suits her personal needs.
I am traveling by bicycle to school to reduce emissions and protect the environment. However, when I want to go far, traveling by bicycle will be quite difficult. Therefore, I want to have a more flexible means of transport" - Thu Huyen confided.

According to the female student, electric cars are a suitable choice for her because they ensure the need to travel far, and moreover, they can protect the environment as Thu Huyen currently wishes.
“I see that electric vehicles have many advantages when they have a charging station system, which helps save costs. At the same time, through experience, I see that this is an easy and quite safe means of transportation” - the female student said and said that she will visit more booths during Green Transformation Day to listen to advice and choose the vehicle that best suits her. In addition to experiential activities, the event also has the participation of People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao and singer Ngo Lan Huong.

Through performances, exchanges and practical sharing, artists want to spread messages about environmental protection, changing consumption habits towards green and sustainable.
Electric vehicle experience activities and the "Gasoline exchange for electricity" program will take place continuously from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on May 16, creating opportunities for people and young people to visit and learn about green traffic trends. Through the program, the Organizing Committee hopes to contribute to raising community awareness about the role of green transformation in socio-economic development, and at the same time encourage people to participate in building a green, modern and sustainable economy.
