2026 Military Aptitude Test: Candidates know scores immediately after doing the test
From 2026, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will organize a separate competency assessment exam for admission to military schools. The exam is expected to take place in one phase in the 3rd week of June, organized at three locations: Military Technical Academy (Hanoi), Information Officer School (Khanh Hoa) and Army Officer School 2 (Dong Nai). Candidates take the exam on computers and know their scores immediately after completing the exam.
In addition to this new method, military schools still maintain 3 enrollment methods as before: Direct admission and priority admission; considering exam scores to assess the capacity of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University; along with considering high school graduation exam scores. Candidates can register for many methods and the system will use the highest results for admission.
For military schools, candidates who want to enter the military system are required to participate in the preliminary selection at the local Military Command and meet the standards of politics, culture, health and age. Especially at the Military Medical Academy, the training programs for the military system and the civilian system have similar medical expertise, but the military system studies more military content and lasts for 6.5 years, while the civilian system studies for 6 years.
