Teacher income is not high, making tutoring an important source of life
On October 31, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City held a conference to provide social feedback on the draft Decision of the City People's Committee on extra teaching and learning. Many comments focus on perfecting the implementation mechanism, in which Dr. Nguyen Tien Dinh suggested clearly distinguishing between extra teaching in schools (mentoring, student development) paid by the budget and extra teaching outside of school that must be registered and permitted.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thi An - President of the City Intellectual Women's Association, Vice Chairwoman of the Economic Advisory Council (Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi) said that the main reason for the popularity of tutoring is due to low pressure for exams and teachers' income. Deputy Minister of Education: Requirements for preschool teachers will be even higher
At the Conference summarizing Project 33 on training and fostering teachers and preschool education managers for the period 2018-2025, Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized that the requirements for preschool teachers in the coming time will increase. The project has made an important contribution to improving the quality of the teaching staff, meeting the requirements of preschool education innovation.

According to Mr. Vu Minh Duc - Director of the Department of Teachers and Educational Managers, in the period of 2018-2020, the Project has trained and upgraded the standards for 257,790/347,895 teachers, reaching 74.1%, exceeding the set target. By the 2021-2025 period, the rate of teachers with a degree from a preschool or higher education college will reach 90.5%. Training programs are updated in the direction of approaching output standards, focusing on professional competence, ethics and active teaching methods, contributing to improving the quality of preschool education.
Along with positive results, the Project also promotes scientific research, international cooperation and practical linkages between pedagogical schools and localities. However, the implementation process is still limited such as the shortage of teachers in many places, funding and resources do not meet requirements, leading to some difficulties in synchronously implementing the Project's goals.
