Boarding school installs 1km of water pipes to end the scene of students going to the stream to bathe
Muong Lat Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Muong Lat Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) has 245 students, most of whom are children of ethnic minorities, and is facing serious difficulties in domestic water sources due to the storm that caused a long ditch collapse, disrupting the water supply system from the stream to the school. Previously, the school had drilled wells but only enough water for the sanitation system; students had to walk about 700m to the Poong stream near the school to bathe, causing inconvenience and potential safety risks, especially as winter approached.
To overcome this, the school decided to invest in about 1km of water pipes (5cm in diameter) to lead water from the ditch system to the school, and mobilize teachers to participate in installing them to reduce costs. Expected to be completed on October 29, the water source will better meet daily needs, ending the problem of students having to go to the stream to swim.

Principal Trinh Van Cuong said that the school had reported to the Commune People's Committee and proposed support to restore the water supply. See more...
More teachers send statements of "recovering overtime pay" to Lao Cai Police

20 teachers of An Binh Kindergarten (Dong Cuong commune, Lao Cai) have sent bank statements to the police to clarify why they have been required to transfer monthly overtime pay to the school's treasurer from 2023 to present. Each teacher transferred an average of 30 million VND, with the school principal having announced that this amount would be used to pay off debts to the school.
During the police investigation, the Board of Directors, accountants, treasurers of the school and teachers were invited to work to clarify the incident. The principal of An Binh Kindergarten confirmed that teachers still receive overtime pay but did not accept the collection. However, many recordings provided by teachers show that the principal requested the school to not declare the truth about this transfer and provide documents to legalize the collection.
The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with Dong Cuong Commune People's Committee to organize an inspection and verification of information, and at the same time report to the Provincial People's Committee before October 30, 2025 to ensure transparency, teachers' rights and strictly handle any violations.
