On the morning of October 22, speaking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc - a teacher at Van Phong Secondary School (Dien Chau District, Nghe An Province) said that she was still having to take a leave of absence from work due to headaches and dizziness from being beaten. Previously, on October 19, 2024, Ms. Ngoc - a teacher at Van Phong Secondary School - had to be hospitalized for treatment of head and facial injuries due to being beaten by a teacher at the same school, Mr. Pham Van Nam.
According to Ms. Ngoc, she and Mr. Pham Van Nam had a conflict related to borrowing money, but up to now the two sides no longer owe each other anything.
After that, many fake Facebook accounts appeared posting offensive content, defaming the honor and dignity of Ms. Ngoc and a number of staff and teachers in the school.
“They exploited my husband and I’s pain of infertility, fabricated all sorts of things, used my personal photos along with offensive images. I felt deeply offended and hurt, but because they created fake accounts, I didn’t know who to report to the authorities.
After that, I posted some content on Facebook, without mentioning any specific individuals, but I was reported and then disciplined for using some inappropriate words on social networks," Ms. Ngoc was indignant.
Recently, a Facebook account "Duong Nhat Han" appeared, impersonating the account of Mr. Duong Nhat Han - Chairman of the Trade Union of Van Phong Secondary School - posting many offensive contents to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc.
On October 21, 2024, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the Chairman of the Trade Union of Van Phong Secondary School affirmed that the Facebook account "Duong Nhat Han" does not belong to him.
“My Facebook account is “Duong Nhat Han”, it has my personal picture, but the account “Duong Nhat Han” is fake”, Mr. Han said, adding that Ms. Ngoc is currently on sick leave, while Mr. Pham Van Nam (the person accused of beating Ms. Ngoc on October 19) is still teaching as usual.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc said she will send a complaint to the authorities, requesting to handle the person using the fake account to insult her honor and dignity on social networks.
On the morning of October 22, Mr. Pham Xuan Sanh - Vice Chairman of Dien Chau District People's Committee said that after receiving information about the incident at Van Phong Secondary School, the district leaders directed the Department of Education and Training to work with the school to clarify and handle it according to regulations.
"This morning, the Department of Education and Training and the District Police continued to work with the school to clarify the matter," Mr. Sanh informed.
