In order to serve the registration of candidates for 10th grade of public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi divides the area of districts, towns and cities into 12 enrollment areas.
12 specific enrollment areas in Hanoi are as follows:
Admission area 1 includes Ba Dinh and Tay Ho districts.
The second enrollment area includes Hoan Kiem and Hai Ba Trung districts.
The 3 enrollment area includes Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Cau Giay districts.
Admission area 4 includes Hoang Mai district, Thanh Tri district.
Admission area 5 includes Long Bien district and Gia Lam district.
The 6th admission area includes Dong Anh, Soc Son, and Me Linh districts.
Admission area 7 includes Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem districts and Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong districts.
The 8 enrollment area includes Phuc Tho, Ba Vi districts and Son Tay town.
The enrollment area 9 includes Thach That and Quoc Oai districts.
Enrollment area 10 includes Ha Dong district and Chuong My and Thanh Oai districts.
The enrollment area of 11 includes Thuong Tin and Phu Xuyen districts.
The 12 enrollment area includes Ung Hoa and My Duc districts.
The division of enrollment areas aims to ensure the most favorable conditions for administrative boundaries, helping students not have to travel too far to study.
Based on specific conditions on geographical location and learning capacity, students choose a school to register their wishes for appropriate admission.
According to the regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, each student is allowed to register their wish to enroll in a maximum of 3 public high schools, ranked in order of wish 1, wish 2 and wish 3.
In which, wish 1 and wish 2 must belong to the same enrollment area according to regulations; wish 3 can belong to any enrollment area.
The 2025-2026 public high school 10th grade admission period in Hanoi will take place on June 7 and 8, 2025. To apply to public schools, students take three exams including math, literature and foreign language.
