Le Thi Ha Linh - a student of Thai Binh High School for the Gifted (Hung Yen) - came to Hanoi from last night, staying at a relative's house near Hanoi National University of Education.
Before participating in this exam, Ha Linh took the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University (HSA) but did not achieve the expected results.

As a Literature major student, Ha Linh is confident with this exam subject but worried about 2 subjects: Math and English.
“I find the exam questions long, the time is a bit short, while we have to present essays. Meanwhile, we prepare for the high school graduation exam in the form of multiple choice, short answers” - Ha Linh said.

Before the exam, the female student did not take extra classes, mainly self-study at home. She set a goal to take the exam above 7 points per subject and plans to use these exam results to apply for admission to Hanoi National University of Education.
Ngo Thi Tra My and Ngo Thi Thuy Linh - 2 twin sisters studying at Kim Son A High School (Ninh Binh) - moved to Hanoi from 3 am and arrived at Hanoi National University of Education at more than 6 am this morning.
Tra My will participate in the SPT exam and her older sister Thuy Linh will participate in the HSA exam tomorrow. The two sisters sit and rest, preparing to review their lessons before the exam while waiting for their mother to find a room near the school.

Like Ha Linh, Tra My shared that the most difficult SPT exam questions are in the way of doing multiple-choice tests, knowledge is also broad, and there are many types of tests. To save time, during the exam preparation process, I did the high school graduation exam questions but tried to present them in the form of graduation.
Thus, I both remember knowledge for a long time and have the technique to do essay essays to participate in the teacher training school competency assessment exam" - Tra My said and said. She sets a goal to pass the Hanoi National University of Education.
In general, in both exam phases, the independent competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education this year recorded a record number of registered applications with nearly 23,000 candidates.
Dr. Tran Ba Trinh - Head of Training Department, Hanoi National University of Education - said that the outstanding new point of this year's exam is the organization of 2 exam phases with the exam site system being expanded to many localities to create maximum convenience for candidates.
The first exam phase mainly takes place in the Northern region, in addition to Hanoi, there are also exam sites in Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Son La and Thanh Hoa. The second exam phase is concentrated in the Central region with exam sites at the University of Education - Da Nang University, Vinh University and one exam site in Hanoi.
The division into two exam phases helps to limit the situation of duplication with other separate exams, creating more opportunities to choose suitable times for candidates. Along with that, the expansion of exam sites also helps students in many localities to participate in exams closer to their residence, reducing travel pressure and costs" - Mr. Trinh explained.
Another new point of this year's exam is the addition of exam subjects such as Informatics, Economic and Legal Education, Industrial Technology and Agricultural Technology, in order to orient teaching innovation and testing and assessment according to the 2018 general education program.
In addition to using the results for admission to many universities, the exam is also considered a measure to help students assess their abilities before the high school graduation exam. Notably, this year Hanoi Medical University also started using the results of the capacity assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education to consider admission for some bachelor's majors in the field of health.
To date, about 39 higher education institutions are increasingly choosing and using the results of this exam in the school's official university admission method. Notably, Hanoi Medical University has also begun to use the results of the SPT exam for admission to some bachelor's majors in the field of health.
