The issue of adding priority points in admission to grade 10 is a topic of interest to many parents and students.
On February 24, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) confirmed: Students who won prizes in the city's excellent student selection exam in grade 9 cultural subjects at the junior high school level will not have to add points in the admission to grade 10 public high school in the 2025-2026 school year.
Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT on the regulations on junior high school and high school admissions issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, effective from February 14, 2025, clearly stipulates: Subjects eligible for additional encouragement points in admission to grade 10 high school are junior high school students who win provincial prizes organized by the Department of Education and Training or coordinated with departments and branches organized on a provincial scale for competitions held at the national level.
Regarding this content, the Ministry of Education and Training also noted that students who win prizes in the exam organized on a provincial scale for competitions organized at the national level will be given additional incentive points in the admission to grade 10 high school.
The regulation on the addition of encouraged points in Circular No. 30/2024/TT-BGDDT does not include students who win the excellent student competition in cultural subjects in the general education program at the junior high school level.
If localities organize excellent student exams at the junior high school level, they will not be able to apply the incentive score accumulation regime for admission to grade 10.
The 2025-2026 public high school entrance exam in Hanoi is expected to take place in June 2025. Candidates will take the exam for Math; Literature; The third exam will be announced this week, no later than February 28.
