On April 8, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) announced the time frame for organizing the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year.
According to the plan, from 8 am on April 22 to before 5 pm on April 28, students will register online on the 10th grade enrollment system prescribed by the Department of Education and Training.
Students in other provinces and cities who need to register for the entrance exam to specialized schools in the city will submit applications to register for the exam at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.
By 9:00 AM on April 29, the 10th entrance registration gate will be locked. After this time, candidates and units cannot add or remove exam registrations.
It is expected that before 4 pm on May 4, the Department will announce the number of students registering aspirations for each high school.
From 5 pm on May 4th to before 5 pm on May 8th, parents and students can adjust their registered aspirations in phase 1. Note, only allow adjustment of aspirations (change of aspirations or aspiration order), and are not allowed to add new or remove candidates from the list of registered candidates in phase 1.
From May 26 to before 5 pm on May 28, candidates receive registration forms.
On May 27, the list of candidates eligible for direct admission to 10th grade was announced.
June 1-2, organize the exam.
From June 3rd to June 9th, organize exam marking, summarize exam marking work and compare exam results.
Candidates registering for public 10th grade will take three compulsory subjects including: Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language (mainly English). Students registering for specialized or integrated classes will take additional specialized or integrated subjects corresponding to their registered aspirations.
Ho Chi Minh City currently has more than 169,000 secondary school students, an increase of nearly 43,000 compared to last year, it is expected that about 70% of students who complete the secondary school program will continue to study at public high schools, the rest can enter private high schools, intermediate schools or continuing education systems.
