On the morning of July 1st, the 6th grade competency assessment survey for the 2026-2027 school year of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (HCMC) took place with more than 4,200 students participating.

At the exam site of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, from early morning, many parents brought their children to the survey site. Although trying to maintain a comfortable mentality to encourage their children, many people admitted that they were the most nervous.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hoai (Hoa Hung ward) said that her family had prepared psychologically quite gently, but when witnessing a large number of students and parents present at the exam site, a feeling of anxiety still appeared.
I have about a year to prepare, mainly studying at home. The family sees this as both an opportunity and an experience for me to understand that there are still many good friends and I myself need to continue to strive in the coming school years," Ms. Hoai shared.
According to Ms. Hoai, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School is a very competitive school, so the family does not create pressure to pass it at all costs. If the results are as desired, it is very happy, and if not, it is also a valuable lesson for the child to grow up.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen (Binh Trung ward) said that her child has been tutoring for about 1 and a half years, starting from the second semester of 4th grade. Initially, she studied about 3 sessions per week, the closer to the survey period, the more it increased to 5 sessions, combining self-study, studying with teachers and tutoring at the center.
Everyone has expectations when taking the exam. I just hope my child is calm, confident, and maximizes their abilities to have the opportunity to enter the dream school," Ms. Duyen said.
According to Ms. Duyen, initially her family planned to register for another school with a lower competitiveness rate, but after the tutoring process, her child expressed her desire to participate in the survey at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School. "The family respects their child's choice," the parent shared.

The survey for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School takes place in 90 minutes, including two parts. The multiple-choice part has 20 questions, the test time is 30 minutes. The essay part lasts 60 minutes, assessing English proficiency (hearing comprehension, reading comprehension, writing in English), mathematics and logical thinking skills, along with reading comprehension and writing in Vietnamese.
In the 2026-2027 school year, the school enrolls 350 6th grade students. The survey results are expected to be announced on July 7. Enrollment is carried out according to the survey results from high to low until the quota is met.
Not only Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, this morning, 4 secondary schools including Hoa Lu Secondary School (Tang Nhon Phu ward), Binh Tho Secondary School (Thu Duc ward), Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School (Binh Trung ward) and Nguyen An Ninh Secondary School (Tam Thang ward) also simultaneously organized enrollment surveys for grade 6 in the 2026-2027 school year.
