According to the plan, the whole province is expected to enroll 25,115 students in grade 10, equivalent to about 85% of secondary school (THCS) graduates in the 2025-2026 school year.
The total enrollment scale for grade 10 is 579 classes, distributed at high schools, secondary and high schools, ethnic minority boarding schools (PTDTNT), continuing education centers and vocational education institutions that organize continuing education programs at the high school level.
In which, 2 campuses of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted enroll 15 classes with 525 students. Ethnic Minority Boarding Schools enroll 8 classes with 280 students, in which each school enrolls no more than 10% of Kinh ethnic students compared to the assigned target.
For public high schools, junior high schools and high schools, the total target is 18,765 students. Meanwhile, non-public high schools, continuing education centers and vocational education institutions that organize continuing education programs at the high school level enroll 5,545 students.
Regarding the enrollment method, the province flexibly applies it according to each type of school. For Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, students must take 4 subjects including Math, Literature, English and corresponding specialized subjects.
Some Ethnic Minority Boarding Schools apply different methods. Specifically, Khanh Hoa Ethnic Minority Boarding High School and Ninh Thuan Ethnic Minority Boarding High School conduct admissions, while Pi Nang Tac Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary and High Schools apply entrance exams.
For public secondary and high schools, non-specialized public high schools, most of them conduct entrance exams with 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English.
Some schools apply the admission consideration form, including: Lac Long Quan High School, Nguyen Thai Binh Secondary and High School and Khanh Son High School.
Students who study French as Foreign Language 1 can apply for admission to Nguyen Van Troi High School.
The zoning of enrollment is not rigidly applied according to commune-level administrative boundaries but is built based on the actual conditions of each locality, in order to create favorable conditions for students to travel.
At the same time, it is suitable for the school network and enrollment scale. Students can still register for admission to nearby high schools if appropriate.
The 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year in Khanh Hoa is expected to be held on May 28 and 29, 2026. Compared to many previous years, the exam organization time is implemented earlier, helping schools to be proactive in enrollment and preparation for the new school year.
For schools applying the admission method, the enrollment will be completed before June 25. The results of the 10th grade enrollment throughout the province are expected to be announced before June 30.
Regarding direct admission policies and priority points, the plan clearly states that direct admission will not be implemented for 10th grade specialized high schools.
For grades 10 of Ethnic Minority Boarding Schools and High Schools, some subjects eligible for direct admission include students of Ethnic Minority Boarding Schools at the secondary school level; students who are very small ethnic minorities; disabled students; students who won national or international prizes in competitions organized or selected by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Regarding priority points, candidates are given a maximum of 2 points for some policy beneficiaries such as children of martyrs, children of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers or children of revolutionary activists. Some other beneficiaries are given 1.5 points or 1 point according to regulations.
Students who win prizes in provincial-level competitions organized or jointly organized by the Department of Education and Training are also given bonus points when considering admission.
According to regulations, each student is allowed to register 1 aspiration for a specialized school and 2 aspirations for non-specialized public high schools according to the enrollment area.
