Gia Binh airport connecting road project may start construction in March

The Prime Minister requested to accelerate the approval of the feasibility study report of the Gia Binh airport connecting road project, striving to start construction in March.

On March 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the State Steering Committee for Important National Works and Projects, Key Sectors of Transport, chaired the 24th meeting of the Steering Committee.

According to the Government Portal, in his concluding speech, the Prime Minister clearly pointed out key tasks for localities; in which, regarding investment preparation projects, Hanoi and Bac Ninh province are accelerating the progress of approving the feasibility study report of the Gia Binh airport connecting road project to soon deploy construction, striving to start construction in March, complete and put into operation to serve APEC 2027.

Cao Bang and Phu Tho provinces proactively coordinate with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies to allocate capital from the central budget, and soon approve the investment policy for the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project (Km0 - Km19), Bac Kan - Cao Bang.

Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Gia Lai, Tay Ninh accelerate the progress of preparing and approving feasibility study reports for Vinh - Thanh Thuy projects, component project 2 Quy Nhon - Pleiku, Ring Road 4 Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh to start construction on May 19.

Regarding site clearance, Phu Tho, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Dong Nai focus on deploying and completing site clearance for the remaining parts of the projects Hoa Binh - Moc Chau, Ninh Binh - Hai Phong (section through Ninh Binh, Hung Yen), Cho Moi - Bac Kan, Dau Giay - Tan Phu project, Ho Chi Minh City Long Thanh to meet construction progress.

The Prime Minister requested Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Bac Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, An Giang, Ca Mau to make efforts and determination in directing and operating to hand over the entire remaining site of the projects before March 15.

The principle of site clearance is to mobilize the entire political system to participate, thoroughly implement and pay attention to the material and spiritual life of the people.

Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Son La, Phu Tho, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, An Giang direct investors and contractors to develop implementation plans; proactively identify sources of construction materials.

Strengthen inspection, urging, and directing units to accelerate the construction progress of Ninh Binh - Hai Phong, Hoa Binh - Moc Chau, Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh projects, component project 3 of Ring Road 4 of Hanoi Capital Region, Quy Nhon - Pleiku, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Phu Quoc International Airport, Phu Cat to ensure quality and progress as committed.

The Ministry of Finance directs VEC to accelerate the construction progress of Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh projects, ensuring synchronous operation with Long Thanh international airport.

Direct ACV and relevant agencies and units to remove difficulties and obstacles to ensure the normal operation of ACV; accelerate the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport phase 1 project as directed by the Standing Committee of the Government at the meeting on January 26, 2026.

Preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to guide and remove obstacles in determining the value of the land fund expected to be paid for the BT project, paid with the land fund of the Gia Binh airport connecting road project (section through Bac Ninh).

The Ministry of National Defense continues to direct relevant units to implement the Ca Mau - Cai Nuoc, Cai Nuoc - Dat Mui expressway projects, the traffic route to Hon Khoai island and the Hon Khoai dual-use general port project to closely follow the set progress.
