On April 3, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak) said that the unit is checking parents' complaints about Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School organizing extra classes and collecting money.
Previously, Mr. N.L.H.P, a member of the school's Parents' Representative Board, submitted a petition to the authorities, saying that this activity violated Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training, which strictly prohibits additional teaching for primary school students from February 14.
According to the reflection, since the beginning of the 2024 - 2025 school year, the school has organized additional teaching in club form with 4 periods/week for the subjects of Math, Vietnamese, English and Life Skills, collecting a fee of 130,000 VND/student/month. When parents petitioned, the school's leaders continued to implement without any adjustment.
The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Buon Ma Thuot city said that the Department of Education and Training had previously issued a number of documents guiding club activities.
However, the unit is currently waiting for specific regulations from the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of Circular 29. When there are official instructions, schools will have to strictly comply.
