According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), in the 2025-2026 school year, for subjects and educational activities specified in the general education program organized for teaching on the first session, the school can invite experts, artisans, artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in teaching according to lessons or topics to ensure the school's education plan.
Nguyen Minh Anh, an 11th grade student, said: "I really like hearing that there are artists and athletes coming to class. Through them, we hear real stories about their efforts to practice, overcome failures to succeed. This is much different from just studying theory in books, helping us feel more motivated".
Not only expecting excitement, many students also hope that the teaching content will be associated with career orientation.
Tran Hoang Long, a 12th grade student, shared: "I want to become a designer, so I really hope to have the opportunity to study from artists and experts in the fashion industry. If we can directly listen to the sharing about the profession, we will better understand practical challenges, thereby having more correct choices for the future".
The schools also said that they will build a suitable program framework, inviting artists and athletes to teach according to the topic, combining exchanges and experiences. The content will be selected to ensure educational value, both inspiring and helping students learn life and career skills.
At Nguyen Du Secondary School (Ben Thanh Ward), Mr. Cao Duc Khoa - Principal said that he will develop a plan to invite artists and artisans to interact and educate students in the 2025-2026 school year.
It is expected that each semester the school will organize 2 topics, inviting artists in many different art fields to share and instruct students on traditional cultural values, beautiful lifestyles and career orientation.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that innovating teaching methods to arouse interest and improve quality is the core goal in the new school year. Schools need to focus on organizing activities to help students form their abilities through practice and experience, instead of just imparting knowledge.
According to Mr. Hieu, bringing artists and athletes to teach is not a completely new policy, many places have implemented such as inviting talented artists to join clubs at school.
Regarding funding concerns, he said that if the school proactively connects the community and parents, many people will be willing to accompany. "The important thing is to organize and create cohesion between schools, parents and society," Mr. Hieu emphasized.
