According to the decision, the school year plan must be suitable to the actual conditions of the locality, while ensuring synchronization between levels of education in the same area.
Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidelines.
For teachers, annual leave time is arranged during the summer vacation. If necessary, leave time can be arranged interspersed throughout the school year, in accordance with the characteristics and education plans of the locality.
Notably, the Department of Education and Training is assigned to advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to decide on the school year time plan for preschool education, general education and continuing education.
In case the school year is affected by natural disasters and epidemics, the early school start time or extension of the school year may be adjusted but not exceeding 2 weeks compared to the prescribed time frame.
In special cases, it is necessary to report to the Ministry of Education and Training before implementation.
The Department of Education and Training is also responsible for deciding to let students take leave from school when the weather is too harsh, natural disasters occur, and arranging make-up classes, while ensuring teachers' leave time.
People's Committees of communes and wards are responsible for organizing the implementation of the school year plan and reporting on the preparation and opening of classes before September 8th every year.
