On October 23, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nguyen - Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Duc Commune (Gia Lai) - said that he had directed the professional departments and the Board of Directors of An Thanh Secondary School to set up a verification team to clarify the reflection of parents and teachers on the fact that Vice Principal Pham Minh Trung requested many classes to suddenly stop teaching in between classes.
"Because the complaint is an anonymous complaint, it is necessary to verify all parties, from parents, students, teachers and even the Vice Principal to grasp accurate information, thereby taking further appropriate steps to handle it," said Mr. Nguyen.
According to the reflection, at around 1:50 p.m. on October 2, when students of classes 8A3 and 9A1 were in first grade, Mr. Pham Minh Trung suddenly entered the classroom and asked the teacher to stop teaching, and let the students go to the schoolyard to clean up because the morning duty area of these two classes still had garbage and leaves. At the same time, teachers are required to teach compensation in the 5th class on the morning of October 6.
"At noon, we have to force students to go to the schoolyard to clean, while they are in first grade, this is an offensive behavior, easily affecting their psychology," Mr. H.A.Q - parent of a student in class 8A3 was upset.
Parents also reported that Mr. Trung had inspected the plan and teaching equipment in a Natural Science class 6A1 taught by Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh and loudly asked Ms. Hanh to stop the class and go to the office. This action made some teachers and students feel stressed, while parents thought that the Vice Principal abused his power and behaved in an inappropriate manner.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Le Van Dung - Principal of An Thanh Secondary School - confirmed that the school is still in the process of verification to handle information reflected by parents.
According to Mr. Le Van Dung, Mr. Trung asked students to sweep the yard to remind them to raise their awareness of hygiene, but the time to make the request during class hours made parents angry.
The school admitted that it had handled the situation unscientifically and in harmony and will organize a meeting to remind departments to comply with regulations, ensuring that cleaning does not affect school hours, creating peace of mind for students and parents.
Mr. Dung also admitted that Mr. Trung spoke a bit loudly, sometimes making the listener feel bullied, even though he did not offend teachers or students.
