Thanh Hoa - Faced with many students having to sleep under a brick floor due to lack of beds, the locality is making a plan, if there is no sponsor, the commune will buy a bed.

On November 22, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Van Liem - Principal of Pu Nhi Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Puu Nhi border commune, Thanh Hoa province) - said that up to now, many students of the school still have to lie on the brick floor due to lack of beds.

Previously, some students near the school were picked up by their families to sleep at home, so the number of students having to lie on the brick floor decreased. Currently, only about 40 students have to sleep under the brick floor due to lack of beds" - Mr. Liem informed.

According to Mr. Liem, at the end of August and the beginning of September, the sponsor (Tam Nho organization) contacted the school to sponsor the equipment, but so far it has not been transferred. Therefore, the school and the locality are still waiting for information from the sponsor.

"If the sponsor does not provide enough equipment, Pu Nhi commune will start shopping (including purchases, in the payment year), so that the school has enough equipment for teaching and learning" - Mr. Liem said.

According to Mr. Liem, if each student is given one bed, the school is lacking hundreds of bed sets. However, the school is currently fixing the problem by combining the beds together so that the children have more space to sleep, so the urgent need is currently only a few dozen.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, for many years, Pu Nhi Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has faced a shortage of tables, chairs, beds, dining tables and many other teaching equipment.

According to the school representative, to have tables and chairs for students, teachers have to take advantage of and repair old tables and chairs from many years ago. The scene only had about 120 sets of assembled tables and chairs, most of which were repaired or requested from other schools.

Not only lacking tables and chairs, the school has 440 students but only about 50 beds. Lack of sleeping space has forced many children to spread thin pads on the brick floor to sleep.
