On the morning of July 1st, after the Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores for 2026, the small house in the mountainous border city burst into happiness.
A round 10 point appears on the result information screen of Tran Duc Anh, a 12A1 student.
Sharing with reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Vice Principal of Dong Dang High School - said that in previous years, the school had recorded students scoring 10 points, but mainly in social science subjects. This is the first time the school has had a student scoring 10 points in Math.
For a high school in a border area, this result is very proud. Having students get perfect scores in Mathematics is a recognition of the teaching and learning efforts of teachers and students of the school," Ms. Huong said.
According to Ms. Huong, although this year's exam questions are assessed as highly differentiated, Dong Dang High School still maintained a 100% graduation rate for the second consecutive year. Duc Anh's achievements therefore made teachers even more excited.

In Duc Anh's family, joy burst into the morning of the exam score announcement. Ms. Doan Thi Bich Thuy, Tran Duc Anh's parent, recounted that after seeing the scores, her son ran down to the room and jumped up in happiness.
The family is really happy. After the exam, he did not say for sure how many points he got. The friends compared the papers and said Duc Anh could get a score of 10, but the family only thought he would get a high score, but did not dare to believe it would be a perfect score," Ms. Thuy shared.
According to Ms. Thuy, from 11th grade, when Duc Anh expressed his desire to take the entrance exam to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, his family began to create conditions for him to study extra Math and Physics in Lang Son City (old). After school hours, the male student and a group of friends rode electric bicycles from Dong Dang to the city to study in the evening.
The distance both ways was about 30km. There were days when the class ended late, Duc Anh returned home when it was almost 10 pm.
He has a dream of going to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, so the family also tries to invest and encourage him. From 11th grade, he and two other friends regularly went to Lang Son for extra classes. In the group, some friends also got 9.5 points in Math," Ms. Thuy recounted.
Not talking much about his efforts, Duc Anh humbly said that he does not have special "secrets". For Math, he focuses on grasping basic knowledge first, then practices advanced exercises.
During the exam preparation process, the male student focused on doing the exam in each form, practicing care to limit errors.

After leaving the exam room, Duc Anh was quite confident with his paper but still did not dare to confirm the score for sure.
I am worried that small mistakes may affect the results. Only when the exam scores are announced, the round 10 number will make family, teachers and friends share the joy.
Ms. Ta Thi Hanh, homeroom teacher of class 12A1, commented that Duc Anh is an obedient, hardworking student with qualities in natural sciences. He participated in the Physics excellent student team for 3 consecutive years and won provincial prizes.
Duc Anh is a student with qualities, very hardworking and obedient. This is a student who has almost nothing to complain about," Ms. Hanh said.
Not only studying well, Duc Anh also actively participates in class and school movement activities, especially arts and literature.
In 3 years of high school, he regularly participated in class performances; cultural and artistic activities with Duc Anh's participation once won high prizes.
Regarding the upcoming direction, Duc Anh wishes to apply for the Mechanical Engineering major of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
According to his family, he had previously participated in some of the school's separate admission methods and achieved very positive results.
In the Dong Dang border area, Tran Duc Anh's Math grade 10 is not only the joy of a family, but also a beautiful milestone for teachers and students of Dong Dang High School after many years of persistently sowing literacy at the border.
