In recent years, the pedagogical sector in Ho Chi Minh City has always been in the group with high benchmark scores, especially in traditional training universities such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and Saigon University.
In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has a benchmark score based on high school graduation exam scores ranging from 21.9 to 28.6 points. The Literature Pedagogy and History Pedagogy both hold 28.6 points - equivalent to an average of nearly 9.53 points/subject.
This means that even candidates with 9 points/subject (total of 27 points) still do not have enough points to be admitted.
The majors of Geography Pedagogy, Mathematics Pedagogy, Chemistry Pedagogy... are also above 27.5 points.
In 2023, the benchmark score at this school was also high, the highest major belonged to Literature Pedagogy with 27 points; then the History Pedagogy major took 26.85.
At Saigon University, the standard score for the pedagogical major is not inferior. In 2024, History Pedagogy takes 28.25 points; Literature Pedagogy takes 28.11; Geography Pedagogy takes 27.91; Math Pedagogy (A00 takes 27.75,... With these scores, even candidates with 9 points/subject are still 0.5-1 points behind the benchmark.

In 2023, it is somewhat lower than in 2024, the highest benchmark is Math Pedagogy (A00) with 26.31 points; followed by Literature Pedagogy with 25.81 points.
Data shows that the benchmark scores for pedagogical majors at both schools have remained high for at least the past two years, with many majors increasing slightly or stably.
