On November 21, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that it had just issued a decision on receiving and training Lao students to study.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned 5 universities and colleges in the province to receive training and arrange dormitory accommodation for 220 students from the Lao People's Democratic Republic, from the 2024-2025 school year.
Vinh University has accepted 3 master's degree students in the following majors: Theory and teaching methods of Chemistry, Preschool Education, Political Science; 22 undergraduate students in the following majors: Information Technology, Law, Natural Resources and Environment Management, Banking and Finance, Economic Law, Investment Economics.

Vinh University of Technical Education received and trained 15 students majoring in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics; Computer Engineering Technology; Electrical Engineering; Automotive Engineering Technology.
Nghe An University of Economics accepts and trains 41 students majoring in Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Information Technology, Veterinary Medicine, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, and Financial Technology.
Vinh Medical University accepts and trains 18 students in the following majors: Medicine, Pharmacy, Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Specialist I in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Nghe An Pedagogical College received and trained 16 staff and 105 students to learn Vietnamese for 10 months.
Students of the Lao People's Democratic Republic enjoy benefits and rights supported by the People's Committee of Nghe An province according to current regulations.
The Provincial People's Committee requires training institutions to receive and train students to ensure quality and comply with regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the management of foreigners studying in Vietnam and current regulations.
According to Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Nghe An Province Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, the cooperation program to train human resources for Lao provinces is a meaningful and practical work, contributing to strengthening and promoting the special friendship and cooperation in many fields between Nghe An province and other provinces in particular, and between Vietnam and Laos in general.
Since 2012, Nghe An has granted human resource training scholarships to a total of 1,157 cadres, students (based on the Vietnamese language entrance exam at Nghe An Pedagogical College) from the 7 provinces of Laos mentioned above to study in Nghe An.
Nghe An province has also allocated about 170 billion VND from its budget to support human resource training for Lao provinces. This includes expenses for education and training, teaching, purchasing personal equipment, living expenses... for Lao students studying abroad.
